  • Would joining a gym help my injury in any way? I was advised by a friend to join a boxing gym because they help you recuperate from your injury. I have numbness of my pinky and half my palm and I just want know how long this will last. And will the bone ever go down since the dr advised me to stop using the figure 8 splint due to it causing numbness to my hand and pinky. Please help me get answers!

  • @iDevastateMusik see a doc near you

  • I have a question. 3 Months ago i had a clavicle separation. Where my clavicle bone is pointing upwards. My dr gave me a Figure 8 strap and gave me Hydrocodone for the pain. 3 Months later and the bone is still pointing upwards and i lost feeling to my pinky on my left arm. Numbness in other words. The dr said its probably pinching the sensory nerve. My question is, will this heal itself? Because he told me to stop using the figure 8. And will the numbness go away and how can rehabilitate myself

  • thank you for this video..i just did this...and i didnt understand what the doctor was saying

  • @caliwowie i am glad you liked it

  • @nabilebraheim million dollar idea....make a program that explains in detail every thing...but taper it for doctors to explain to patiance...and market it like that...and sell to hospitals!!! it will clear up any confusion the patiant has!

  • I've separated both of my shoulders. The left one was from a car accident and it was minor and I didn't really feel it at all. The right one was from a snowboarding accident and it was major. It hurt like hell and my arm was useless for weeks. My collar bone was sticking up a lot! I had surgery done. They shaved the end of the collar bone, put in a cadaver tendon, and two teflon screws.

  • i have a grade 3 ac joint separtion, most painful experience in my life, i was drunk and they gave me perks, still the most pain ive ever felt

  • @drigx1 yeh same thing just happend to me did u get surgery or no

  • @TheBassmentmusic no i didnt, ive wondered about it tho, my shoulder feels alot better now, i can actually work out again

  • @drigx1 yeh i just got told i dont need surgery but the weird thing is i havent taken any meds for my pain roughed it out. How long did it take you to start lifting again?

  • @TheBassmentmusic alittle less then 5 months

  • Thanks dr. Hawkins. I have seperation of the A/C joint and the clavicle is very prominent on my left side but I have NO pain and I can still do incline pushups :S Will I need surgery if it protrudes about 1cm out of my skin? I can put my arm across my body and its no tigher than the other arm. I'm gutted that I might have to stop my weight training, as I'm a skinny guy but I've made so much progress... to see it go down the drain to end up in a worse place is a kick in the teeth!

  • @Flamestar1989 AC SEPARATION IS NOT PAINFUL

    SEE A DOC

  • @nabilebraheim Shit, that's bad news. My friend who's a physio says its probs a muscle imbalance if there's no pain. But sure, I'll get it seen to. Better not need surgery or I'll be pretty pissed off :(

  • @Flamestar1989 see a doc asap

  • @nabilebraheim They all say its okay, there's no pain and its not loose. My doctor agrees with my friend (who's a physiotherapist) in saying its most likely a muscle imbalance, where one side is stronger than the other. I do agree that everyone with a boney bump like this should see a doctor, but I'm also saying that they shouldn't worry in the meantime if its not painful, because it mightn't be A/C shoulder separation, even if everything and everyone is pointing to that.

  • @Flamestar1989 agree

  • My arm got dislocated and I couldn't move it. Then all if a sudden it popped back in place so what do u think I should do? Just put ice on it or go to the hospital and get it checked out?

  • @retroman89 thanks

  • @retroman89 go to a hospital

  • DR Nabiel Ibrahim

Thank you so much for this information. I was looking for a long time to find a video that explains the (AC) shoulder separation to understand my medical situation, and this video was it.

  • I see my specialist on Thursday after 2 weeks of having the injury. I can move my shoulder almost fully but I feel a "hole" where my AC joint was. When I first had the injury, there was a bump in that area. Is this normal?

  • @primetimeking101 the injury looks like a pump

  • Hi Dr , many thanks for this great explanation. i have been suffering from shoulder pain for last 15 yrs and had many treatmts but only to get a temporary relief, After looking at your great videos, i now suspect what might be the cause of the pain. something heavy fell on my shoulder clavicle long ago( at same time heard a sort of crack noise..no fracture identified. so i suspect its a AC inferior joint dislocation or tendon damaged, what test should help to confirm this plse?thx in adv

  • @lata6464 see a doc and get an xray

  • @lata6464

thanks Dr, problem is that i have seen at least 5doctors, had at least 5 Xrays, 3 MRI, 2 CT scans.they have not seen much apart from minor spine wear. that's what puzzling me. in the meantime , i have lost about 40% of my right arm capacity, and my muscles are slowly shrinking bcause uable to do much with it now..

  • @lata6464 get a price injection in this joint

    and see the result

surgery is not hard for this joint

  • if you have a small tear in your AC, do you need to get surgery or can you do a home-treatment? i can do everyday things, i can even exercise (although it does seem risky to do that), but i hear popping (if i do pushups) and i do feel my AC joint too.

  • @starkyliam SEE A DOC

    START WITH NO SURGERY FIRST

  • i tore my ac ligament and my clavicle is still hanging off my shoulder

  • HOLY HELL I THOUGHT I HAD BROKE MY SHOULDER I HAD A SHOULDER SEPARATION

  • @lulsauce good luck

  • Thanks Dr Ebraheim. I just got this yesterday after slipping & falling on a concrete slab. I loved your medical humor. Made me smile the first time since yesterday. Thanks!

  • @samann95014 thanks

  • Hi Dr, I don't have pain or swelling on the cross arm test but if you try to force my arm cross body and i resist you with thumb down i feel sharp pain in the tip of the shoulder probably around the AC joint.. i can move my arm normally on lateral raise and front raise with or without resistance... do you think it's the AC joint that causing this ? i go to the gym a lot and i've been resting the last 3 weeks and this pain is vanishing but very slowly i feel like it needs another 3 weeks.. thx

  • @zzztrrr2 possible

    check with a doc

  • @zzztrrr2 great

    thank you for sharing

  • i have a huge problem that make me less and less confident every day the fact that my shoulders are kinda weak i think i can take them out and in and my shoulder blade at the pack sticks out so much that i cant wear anything tight and also when i lifft my shoulder and move it back wards my back musles or what ever make this crunch noise :(

  • @NnikoBellic check for winging of the scapula

  • I have a 50% separation it doesn't always look separated a lot of the times it looks completely normal, how long is this going to take to heal it feels a bit crunchy when i touch it then move it

  • @6762bmx few month

i does not affect the outcome

  • @nabilebraheim will the crunchy feeling go away?

  • @6762bmx it may not go away

  • @nabilebraheim Last question when should I stop wearing figure-8 splint? I've wore it 1 month so far, two more months to go

  • @6762bmx ask your doc

    usually shorter than that

  • thank you for your answer
