I've downloaded a few effects from shareware sites on the internet. Google something like "Movie Maker free effects" and poke around for a while. Sometimes you can find some effects that software students wrote a project in college. I also gave $10 (USD) to Microsoft for an extended package of effects to Movie Maker.
There's only one effect I had to do outside of Movie Maker. That would be the time reversal. I had to download some software (for free) to do the time reversal directly on the .avi file. If you google for "xander video time reversal", you'll get a French website where you can download the software.
Thanks for all the kind words. I don't really use anything fancy. The camera is a 5 year old, moderately priced digital camera (Fujifilm S602Z). To edit the movies, I'm just using the standard video editing software (Movie Maker) that comes with Windows XP. If you don't have Movie Maker, you can download it for free from the Microsoft download site.
