I think labeling different genres of metal is a nessecity. Would you really consider Slipknot and Black Sabbath in the smae category? Really? I don't think we need to get too specific (ex. Technical Industrial Post-Thrash blah blah blah..) death, thrash, black, sludge, and heavy metal are the only categories I need.

Black Metal isn't just some bullshit label, it is an actual subgenre of metal, with characteristic musical elements that distinguish it from other kinds of metal, like Death Metal, Thrash, Doom etc.
