lol... this guy is funny :) he said... buy an old Mini......LOL!!!!!!!!! I'm not going to say anything more cuz you guys all burned him enough already lol. Love your RS bro, I might have to the same things you did to get the conversion... but I don't have a big budget haha. I do love GC8s tho! :D
get the sti differential...it has adjustable torque balance you can set by a dial to have more torque in the rear or front plus STi motor needs either the STi trans or a nice chunky clutch to handle the HP
I'm running a JDM 5-speed with the adjustable center diff. The rear end is running an R180 Cusco 1.5 way RS diff, but in this video it was still running the STI 8 LSD. I still have it for sale if anyone is interested.
Umm... are you serious? Cuz... there are 4 or 5 series where FWD cars have won most of the races.
FIA Championships have a lot of FWD cars and, usually, they have no problems beating the RWD cars. WTCC, in particular, has more FWD cars than RWD ones.
Back before AWD, FWD cars usually dominated the rally scene until the Stratos came around. Then the Quattro came onto the scene and blew them all away.
RWD takes more skill to drive and on a loose surface like gravel FWD would have been more forgiving, but as you pointed out... that was before AWD.
I wasn't 100% serious, but if you want to get serious about a car, AWD or RWD is the way to go. It's just too difficult to have the front wheels doing all the work once you get some serious horsepower & torque numbers.
I drive an STI now, but if I got rid of the AWD, I'd be back in RWD for sure.
I know what WTCC is... I was talking about Rally, because I like rally & you brought it up talking about FWD in the rally scene.
Like I was saying... I wasn't really all that serious about the comment. I personally hate front wheel drive cars. I'd much rather oversteer than understeer. If you like FWD, own them & have fun. I just think they suck (opinion not fact).
Ive got an 01RS coupe with 04 sti swap and ver IV type-R 5 speed w dccd+R180 diff. RS's came out before the WRX did so any RS owner is a true Subaru enthusiast
we boys and our toys...i have a 98 rs bone stock, and i like it that way...but a bit more kick in the butt would be fun. ahh, after college, after college. nice ride bro.

Most of it is diy. The shortblock and heads were built assembled by Ron @ Raw1performance. Good luck!

Minis are Front Wheel Drive. Name ONE motorsport where FWD dominates.

You said that RWD takes more skill to drive... then went on to say that FWD is too difficult to manage.
FWD take A LOT of work learning how to manage the throttle understeer and yet still enter a turn at high speed.
Also WTCC isn't rally. It's a professional track racing series that races around the world. And, yes, FWD usually dominates the series.
Most stock FWD cars are tuned to understeer with no negative camber up front and very loose springs in the rear.

(Ran out of room) A properly tuned FWD car has no problems matching an equally tuned RWD car of equal power.
Peace : )
