I believe the problem is that not a lot of people study the Bible and see what God really wants us to be like. We Christians are supposed to live in example. That just doesn't happen too often. I am not a Christian, but here are the differences I see:
1. In the U.S., $cientology has a tax exempt status (in regard to religious education) enjoyed by no other religion. That has to change.
2. However ridiculous you find Christian beliefs, you can learn about them immediately. You do not have to pay $100,000+ simply to find out about Jesus. The bible is not treated like copyrighted material.
3. You can criticize christianity without fear of being "tricked, cheated or destroyed."
Did you know that for a great many years, common christian folk couldn't read the bible because they didn't know the language? The guy who translated the King James Bible so regular folk could read it was executed by the church for his crime.

William Tyndale, the guy who wrote the first English translation (I thought was the KJV but could be wrong), was executed for this crime. Does anyone remember the biblical story of Jesus trashing the merchants in God's temple. Jesus was angry that church had been turned in to a market. So the bible is clear on this. No Christianity isn't like Scientology. Turn the other cheek vs. fair game, come on.
I don't make fun of scientology...well, not because of their beliefs. I'm against the system of the chruch of scientology that cheats, harasses, and destroys. However, I'm also against televangelists and crooked preachers who use the name of God to hide their schemes. Besides, Scientology was founded by a con man who said himself that his only interest was in making money and that making a religion would be his money making platform.
"Jesus" did not 'make up religion', there are plenty of older and newer religions.
Arguably the Jesus character portrays a separatist sect of judaism, but the new testament was certainly written by *other people* afterwards. People who certainly stood to gain by the spreading and growth of their cult.
Another thing your attacking these TV evangelists well, I'll be the first to agree on your point regarding them living in these huge estates, but you cant attack the entire religion based on what a select few people do with there money. people project these images of a cult of sorts. if you were to get to the heart of the matter you would find that its a religion that preaches love, and the morals taught to people through the bible are morals that any man from any walk of faith can take in

Do you have any concept of the Christian faith? I would say that you got every single point about Cristianity wrong with the possible exception of the large estates owned by the televangelists. The idea of equality among all men is a key part in Christian beliefes. The dark ages were caused by climate changes and plagues, they fought against the inquisition (do a little reading next time). Helping out via mission work in Africa as well as hundreds of other countries. And rape, last I checked that was man, not God.

Yep, I stopped when it said that Christianity is a pyramid scheme. Sorry, but you can live your entire life as a Christian, and never have to pay a cent to actually learn what your faith is about.
I think he's referencing tithing, the practice of donating a certain percentage of your income to your parish. This practice has generally fallen out of favour, only a small number of parishes continue to tithe.

It is easy to pick apart Christianity from here and from there and let the whole thing crumble because of a few doctrines that you dont agree with. That is one of the main reasons for people turning against the faith. But to do this is to look at the small corner of a much bigger picture. I ask you to look as Jesus Christ first. Who he was, how he behaved, how reliable the accounts are, why he did what he did and then look into your own heart and be honest whether you think God is there.

It is through accepting the love of Jesus that followers feel compelled in their hearts to give to the poor. Jesus taught this in Matthew 19:21.

People (Christians included) abuse their power and status. But Jesus never did. He was perfect and sinless. So if you are going to judge Christianity then firstly look at Christ.

I am not a Christian, but here are the differences I see:
1. In the U.S., $cientology has a tax exempt status (in regard to religious education) enjoyed by no other religion. That has to change.
2. However ridiculous you find Christian beliefs, you can learn about them immediately. You do not have to pay $100,000+ simply to find out about Jesus. The bible is not treated like copyrighted material.
3. You can criticize christianity without fear of being "tricked, cheated or destroyed."

--Not sure what you mean by that -- the KJV was written in English. Maybe you're referring to the Gutenberg Press, which allowed anyone to print the bible, when before it was only available in Latin.

William Tyndale, the guy who wrote the first English translation (I thought was the KJV but could be wrong), was executed for this crime. He was arrested, jailed for over a year, tried for heresy, strangled, and burnt at the stake. If you ask me, this is worse than the Church of Scientology suing someone to make a buck.

Of course, the execution of William Tyndale was a terrible thing - but this happened in the 15th century. If christians did such a thing today, the killers would be immediately brought to justice. On the other hand, those who killed Lisa McPherson still walk free.

Scientology is a young religion. Christianity had a MUCH more violent youth than Scientology did. Christians need to stop throwing hissy fits about Scientology. for the most part, the crimes of Scientology are limited to extortion, greed, and stupidity, all of which find their fair share in the Christian faith as well. But Christianity has far more blood on its hands. I'm not excusing Scientology, but I don't like the double standards being applied.

I don't make fun of scientology...well, not because of their beliefs. I'm against the system of the chruch of scientology that cheats, harasses, and destroys. However, I'm also against televangelists and crooked preachers who use the name of God to hide their schemes. Besides, Scientology was founded by a con man who said himself that his only interest was in making money and that making a religion would be his money making platform.

"Jesus" did not 'make up religion', there are plenty of older and newer religions.
Arguably the Jesus character portrays a separatist sect of judaism, but the new testament was certainly written by *other people* afterwards. People who certainly stood to gain by the spreading and growth of their cult.

Do you have any concept of the Christian faith? I would say that you got every single point about Cristianity wrong with the possible exception of the large estates owned by the televangelists. They are the exception to the rule though as many church leaders in many different denominations actually will live in the church itself or on a small property ajoining the chruch property.
