He should have won an oscar for his portrayal of Rorschach. The character is so complex, so intriguing and interesting but he made him look easy. It is really too bad that so many people out there have given Watchmen a bad critique, most of them have probably never seen it. Even if you do not like comics, if you read the book and then watch the movie Zack snyder hits the nail on the head and delivers a great story that is underrated. Even movie critics gave it a thumbs down. shame on them.

Also, the upper-left button on his coat, along with the buckle on the right sleeve (which is why the cuff strap hangs loose like the left epaulet) should be missing, but only after 1975. Also, Walter is 45 in 1985, not 35. Being 35 would mean that he's about 10 years younger than the rest of them (other than The Comedian who, despite being a geezer, is still a powerhouse of ubermenschian mayhem) which throws off the continuity of their backstories. Oh, and Walter is supposed to be left-handed.

@SailorSaturnCelestia Top props to the effects team too. All the actors, especially Jackie (most especially as the unmasked Walter), really look like their respective characters. The Director's Cut is especially good because it's got more Rorschach action. I do have a few nitpicky gripes, though, typical of a detail-obsessive fanboy (as Spoony One would say). The left epaulet of Rorschach's jacket wasn't missing a button in 1975 in the book but it is in the movie (which is why it hangs loose).

A *great* charicter actor, who started as a child star, and had a long period in the 90's where he was out of show business. His career got jump-started again with the role of a paroled sex offender in "Little Children", which got him an Oscar nomination. I'm looking forward to Nightmare on Elm Street and whatever other projects he has in the pipeline..
