the best car is the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon. You can accelerate faster than a ferrari california, take the 6.2 L supercharged 556 hp v8 round the track, carry your groceries, carry you kids, its a familymobile. The best of all worlds

Hey Toyota F1 (disregarding the amount of money they spend = to Ferrari +Mclaren some say) Did pick up a lot of podiums, Had pole positions + front row lock out. And in the last home race and 2nd last race came a close P2 (2009 Japan GP) with Jarno fending off a Mclaren with Lewis in it. People think they were a joke but one more year and what could of been. People laugh at Honda and what did Brawn do? Williams with Toyota powered was relatively successful as well.

Good list. I think I agree more with Leo's part of the list, but any of the cars that J.F. named I would be more than happy to own. I'm very happy Leo named the BTCC Chevy Cruz. That car was very fast, and very surprising in my opinion. It was actually something very unique that wore a chevy badge, and I can't say that very often. I'm very much looking forward to 2012, DRIVE, and the new lineup you have in store. Great work in 2011 guys...keep it up.

I still believe the Audi R8 LMS should have made that list. It out preformed so many other cars in races and it was part of Audi's customer racing program which just allowed it to accel much more. When the car is racing for Audi and just anyone who can buy it, while still winning, it makes for a great car.

looking back im really going to miss seeing jf and alex go at it every thursday. even though sometimes the setup was lame or dry or whatever, they always had a good point of view on many issues in the automotive world. i really hope we continue to see a jf/alex duo somewhere because sometimes you need a fresh look on the automotive world.
he really is crazy for saying lfa instead of the boss 302. The boss was purpose built to take down the m3 and even took down the 09 r8 in the process. the lfa did nothing besides rev. The boss is affordable, while you can buy a small country for the price of the lfa. boss 302 should have been a no brainer

I'm a little surprised that the GTR didn't make the race car list. The Nismo GT-R won the FIA GT1 championship and it dominated Super GT over the HSV.
@HughesTuning Good points. AND you reminded me the Nissan LMP2 could be considered, too. In debut yr, it won Le Mans 24 + the ILMC championship [have to check on that].
The Cruze DOMINATED WTCC. It was the car of the top three in 2011 championship, Chevy won manufactures and they look to continue too into 2012.
Also, if you like verity racing, check out World Challenge. GT, GTS and TCs all on the same track. Great cars, real aggressive racing here in the US. ^_^
Well even though the Audi R18 won Le Mans and lost everything else, who cares. In 10 years no will remember who won the ILMC this year but they will remember who won Le Mans this year.
Glad to see the LFA get some love, but no GTR? In my opinion, this years GTR was the best performing v6 of all time when it was built. The 2013 GTR v6 pulling 0-60 in about 2.7 probably takes the cake at this point.
@Israeli3030 a boring car that takes no skill to drive. as a matter of fact, you don't drive the GTR, you "operate" it. yeah its fast, but that's all it has.
@Israeli3030 Every acne-covered teenager worships the GTR. It's fast, has four seats, easily tuned. Sure, you could argue there's passion in it, too. But it's hard to root for the car which gets far more than its fair share of love. Some great cars are ignored simply because the GTR excels in its video-game like point and shoot nature. Sure, it probably deserves to be on JF and Leo's list. But I'd rather it not be, lest I be deprived of other cars with more purpose than solely Nurburgring speed.
@AventadorSuperVeloce Well, I just happen to respect Japanese cars and that's the reason why GT-R is in my list of favorite cars. It doesn't look that great but it's otherwise awesome as fuck.

But yeah, I agree with you on the level that the GTR is a great car. But I believe it's over-hyped and there are better cars out there. Of course, to each his own. I would prefer the 458 any day, even a Gallardo or loaded C63 (Black Series or not). Styling plays a lot into my emotion and passion for cars, and the GTR does not cut it for me.
2011 mustang family, the v6 is 300hp drives great and bace price is a super low 22k?
the gt is over 400hp is super fun to drive tons of Torque and is 32k.the BOSS is a track car with a license plate and beats the breaks oof a new m3 or vett foe half the money!!!!

I'm not a big Porsche fan... but we got to hand it to them, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is just amazing. For me is the big difference maker, and the pick for best car of 2011 ;)
It seems to me that Nurburg is the proving ground for all things fast so why doesn't the LFA's fastest lap of the Nordschleife earn any respect for Toyota? Maybe because their mass market appeal is the antithesis to the idea of enthusiast motoring? I am just having a hard time making the brand connection.

LFA is an exclusive car, I saw the other day on in person, and when you see the interior, you would get amazed by the atention to detail in the Lexus....
LFA is like a aston martin ONE-77, Alfa 8C, or a GT3 4.0, they are colectable cars.

@LeoParente Good to see an Australian brand on there. But I'd say the Triple 8 engineered Holdens exclusively. They finished 1-2 in the championship and have dominated all season. The other Holden teams and the works team all struggled for pace on a frequent basis. Both Ford and Holden works team say T8 is a step ahead of everyone!
Loving these Road Testament episodes with Leo. I think the LFA is pretty great for being Lexus's first attempt at a supercar, its not without flaws but overall a great first attempt.
Nice to hear the Cruze team won.. last time i tuned on to a wtcc event, the cruze was getting its ass handed to it by the renault team (i think it was)...
Ok guys, where is the Boss 302? Leo did a review on it this year and even gave it high praise. I know you're not muscle car fans, but you don't have to be a Mustang fan boy to appreciate what Ford did with that car. $40K, 444 hp, faster than "big brother" Shelby (2012) and it schools the M3 on and off the track. I think it's a big mistake on your part for not even mentioning it.
True, RML Cruzes are dominant in WTCC, but they're dominating a bunch of small private teams and the championship itself has lost pretty much all of its relevance, unfortunately.
None of the new breed of 1.6L WRC cars made it? I thought you liked small cars? Come on Leo. The citroen DS3 was dominant enough. The Mini WRC looks cool and sounds so good, bap bap bap.
@mbc92028 Citroen was on my list [for reasons you gave] Fiesta was there, too because how it looks [esp the Black edition] + everyone including Foust + Block + Gronholm made it work in Extreme / Rallycross racing. Mini, no..... Still needs to get better, despite its throttle-off over-run engine sounds. Tried to cover myself by saying there are SO many [best 2011 racecar] choices. Ehh.

Definitely the BMW 1M. It is fast, affordable, and a trend setter. Just in the spirit of the Ultimate Driving Machine, it should ask for a sacrifice of the right arm and left leg.
Great episode, I'd say it's very accurate although I might would've changed a few things if it was up to me to decide. Always love the Road Testament and it will be interesting to see how things play out on Drive!
Having seen the WTC replays I can back Leo up on his pick of the Cruze, it's ridiculously fast at a wide variety of courses AND in the hands of different drivers, all of which points to it being a helluva little drivers car.

I'm a little surprised that the GTR didn't make the race car list. The Nismo GT-R won the FIA GT1 championship and it dominated Super GT over the HSV.

The Cruze DOMINATED WTCC. It was the car of the top three in 2011 championship, Chevy won manufactures and they look to continue too into 2012.
Also, if you like verity racing, check out World Challenge. GT, GTS and TCs all on the same track. Great cars, real aggressive racing here in the US. ^_^

Glad to see the LFA get some love, but no GTR? In my opinion, this years GTR was the best performing v6 of all time when it was built. The 2013 GTR v6 pulling 0-60 in about 2.7 probably takes the cake at this point.

@Israeli3030 Every acne-covered teenager worships the GTR. It's fast, has four seats, easily tuned. Sure, you could argue there's passion in it, too. But it's hard to root for the car which gets far more than its fair share of love. Some great cars are ignored simply because the GTR excels in its video-game like point and shoot nature. Sure, it probably deserves to be on JF and Leo's list. But I'd rather it not be, lest I be deprived of other cars with more purpose than solely Nurburgring speed.

But yeah, I agree with you on the level that the GTR is a great car. But I believe it's over-hyped and there are better cars out there. Of course, to each his own. I would prefer the 458 any day, even a Gallardo or loaded C63 (Black Series or not). Styling plays a lot into my emotion and passion for cars, and the GTR does not cut it for me.

2011 mustang family, the v6 is 300hp drives great and bace price is a super low 22k?
the gt is over 400hp is super fun to drive tons of Torque and is 32k.the BOSS is a track car with a license plate and beats the breaks oof a new m3 or vett foe half the money!!!!
and the SHELBY cars are and just plain EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems to me that Nurburg is the proving ground for all things fast so why doesn't the LFA's fastest lap of the Nordschleife earn any respect for Toyota? Maybe because their mass market appeal is the antithesis to the idea of enthusiast motoring? I am just having a hard time making the brand connection.

LFA is an exclusive car, I saw the other day on in person, and when you see the interior, you would get amazed by the atention to detail in the Lexus....
LFA is like a aston martin ONE-77, Alfa 8C, or a GT3 4.0, they are colectable cars.

@LeoParente Good to see an Australian brand on there. But I'd say the Triple 8 engineered Holdens exclusively. They finished 1-2 in the championship and have dominated all season. The other Holden teams and the works team all struggled for pace on a frequent basis. Both Ford and Holden works team say T8 is a step ahead of everyone!

Ok guys, where is the Boss 302? Leo did a review on it this year and even gave it high praise. I know you're not muscle car fans, but you don't have to be a Mustang fan boy to appreciate what Ford did with that car. $40K, 444 hp, faster than "big brother" Shelby (2012) and it schools the M3 on and off the track. I think it's a big mistake on your part for not even mentioning it.

@mbc92028 Citroen was on my list [for reasons you gave] Fiesta was there, too because how it looks [esp the Black edition] + everyone including Foust + Block + Gronholm made it work in Extreme / Rallycross racing. Mini, no..... Still needs to get better, despite its throttle-off over-run engine sounds. Tried to cover myself by saying there are SO many [best 2011 racecar] choices. Ehh.

Having seen the WTC replays I can back Leo up on his pick of the Cruze, it's ridiculously fast at a wide variety of courses AND in the hands of different drivers, all of which points to it being a helluva little drivers car.
