IDEA: members of congress should have mandatory tax audits every 2 years. If they don't pay up (+penalties) in 3 mos., they loose their seat. If they pay, but it happens 3 times..they're OUT (no re-election possible). Americans would trust congress a little more with this regulation in place, knowing they pay their taxes like we pay ours! Daschle is one of the ones who created this tax law about "taxable gifts & benefits"!

He himself has said that 'ignorance of the Law is no excuse' and that people who don't pay their taxes 'should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law'.

I find it funny how Obama's cabinet are not only cheap when it comes to how much they give to charity but cheats when it comes to paying tax. How many of them will have to say "I'm sorry I made an honest mistake"? If the rest of us cheat on our taxes we don't get the luxury of paying up and apologizing. We get slammed by the IRS. Geithner was told in writing that he was self-employed and had to pay quarterly taxes. Not only that, he was told at the end of each quarter how much to pay. Not only that, but he was GIVEN THE MONEY TO PAY THE TAXES. YET HE STILL DIDN'T PAY. AN HONEST MISTAKE? NO, AN OUT AND OUT TAX CHEAT WHO NOW RUNS THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE. ONLY IN AMERICA!!!
