finally found it! the original! this song has kept me from 1983 till now! and i sing it in service always!!! tears coming as i listen.....................move me Holy Ghost! i had the cassette in 1983.............the bible records-oh that men would give thanks to God for His goodness and His wonderful works to the children of men!!!
@ naplesdave- Thanks for posting this..I had no idea who the artist was..When i became a christian bk in the late 80's, this was one of the first songs i automatically fell in love with..I had the cassette and played it until i wore it out and forgot the groups name...I owe it alot to this group..Something told me to go to church after hearing this song..So i thank the( Imperials) for changing my life and to come to know the lord.......
This song is THE song for me. I love so many Christian songs having been a Christian for over 25 years, but this song has a way of stopping me in my tracks. It so often brings tears to my eyes as is the case right now. I've read articles where this song is one of the top 10 Christian songs of all time, but for me it is the # 1 Christian song. So, lift up the mighty shield of faith for the battle MUST be won. We know that Jesus Christ is risen so the work's already done. Praise the LORD.
I first heard this song not long after getting saved and thruout the years it still blesses me when it reminds me to Praise the Lord for our God inhabits Praise. Thanks for posting this and once again reminding me how blessed I am in Jesus.
loving the Lord at 9yrs old, this was my favorite song. This makes me worship and cry to look back at how God has kept me saved from then til now 32yrs
Hallelujah! There is POWER in Praise! If you can't "feel" it right now, just listen to this song... get it inside of you.... BELEIVE IT!.... then sing it out... Like Apostle Paul, be persuaded.... I AM PERSUADED... that as I sing these words, and with my faith activated, Jesus will come... no wonder the chains fall powerless... blessings to the one the Lord has ministered this song to today! remember, there is power in Praising the Lord... the devil has to go!
Mom played this group and others (Carmen and Don Fransisco) over and over in our home while growing up. After years of straying from the Lord, coming back, Mom going to Heaven, and life's life, it is good to still remember these songs and the seed of praise it planted in my spirit. I thank the Lord, these artists, and my Mom for these songs.

While the lyrics of this song are not direct quotes of Scripture, they are so powerful and empowering to Believers...claim it!

One of my favorites over the last 3 decades!
How good to be reminded over and over, to praise the LORD in spite of circumstances, as the psalmist did in Psalm 42 & 43.
