  • What is the name of this piece you played here? This was such a beautiful song!!!! I am still purchasing a grand 10 string with two plugs on the 12 stick because that's all they had at the time and just in case I want to add the other two strings later on down the road but knowing there is such amazing music out there for the stick just makes me so adamant to have it in my hands now. Thanks for everything!

  • bravo!!!

  • Way cool! Sounds nice. I am a Stick player, too. I play a regular Grand Stick. So far I haven't played an SG-12. Are you using straight 4ths or regular guitar tuning on the part you're playing with your left hand? Looks like guitar major-7th and minor-7th chord shapes on the bottom 4 strings. I use "Matched Reciprocal High Bass 4th". Keep up the good work!

  • @marksmartus2

hi i got two guitar standard tunnin...thanks

    have an excellent day

  • this is amazing THIS is amazing

  • Why the choice of the SG12 as opposed to the Grand Stick?

  • damn it's really nice!!!! amazing technic!!! Rock !

  • sweet!!

  • a kye boards is the same shit

  • Unbelievable!

  • perfect

  • lol piano.

  • best! i like it very good

  • This is awesome. By the way the instrument is called a "stick" the most creative name ever I know, but it sounds great. I wish I had enough money to afford one.

  • now thats jazz! and what instrument is that just 2 guitar necks together?? 5/5

  • its just a 12 strings guitar

  • 'just' (!)

  • No, it's not a "12 string guitar" It's a Chapman Stick. A 12 string guitar is basically a 6 string guitar but each string is paired as opposed to being 12 individual strings like on this one here.

Yes it has 12 strings, But they don't go from thick to thin from top to bottom. The thickest strings are in the middle. Why? I'm not sure, I don't play the instrument, but I assume it has something to do with the left hand technique, which usually plays the rhythm - and thus needs more bass notes.

  • @StoneBeliever The lowest strings of both the bass and the melody section are positioned in the middle of the fretboard because of the way your hands are normally positioned. If the bass strings were at the very top, you'd have to reach all the way across the instrument to pick bass notes.

  • @StoneBeliever Just to clarify, in this particular video the technique being used is different, as the left hand is used for the melody section and the right hand for the bass.

  • Reminds me of Level42 :)

  • Hahahahah,,,schnevudni ördojerve naxgölö göylix...Hahahahah..pens leisi aashool...Drevögerosomalii.

  • good - excellent - great - perfect! no words

  • Hey hettory, Nice job. Sweet blue and turquoise. Definitly what I hear in my mind when I'm surfing a distant solo break. No body for miles, and all to my self yet part of the world. Cule. Mark J.

  • How do you do that? INCREDIBLY GREAT MAN! 5 stars!

  • Perfect relaxing music by the fireplace. I'd love about an hours worth of this music on CD.

  • ahhh first time i seen a guitarist showing off good

fabien (french pionnier with tapping technique)

    lovely piece ,great man!!!!

  • awesome. I'm doing a layaway for a Megatar. Can't wait!

  • Holy shit....

  • Awesome music, and I would love to learn how to play anything on that instrument, but it's so expensive! $2000++ for a super-guitar thingy?! Choices, choices...

  • I completely agree. On all things you said :)

  • Are you using uncrossed tuning on this instrument? Which tunings do you use?

  • Extremely cool man!

  • That was some pretty crazy/awesome/insane/musical stuff!

  • im more of a classical and death metal guitarist but awesome yo.

  • i'm still learning and practicing a lot everyday....

  • @hettory Holy shit you are really good man and you still got to keep going? Man I just started playing. Imagine how much more I gotta go? Oh well.....

  • jeez how long does it take to learn to play that

  • Simply beautiful!

  • Dude, you are AWESOME! Do you have any tabs for this? You just blew me away!

  • this is awesome! Keep listenin to the music in yo head.

  • i dont play that sort of stuff, im more a metal guitarist...

but that is quite amazing, i'd love to be able to do that

  • Is this kinda like the Bi-Melody tuning for Megatars?

  • lovely

  • Is it me, or is the string placement practically the opposite of that of a normal stick?

  • This is quite different from a normal Stick tuning. It seems to have two lots of normal guitar tuning both with the thicker strings towards the players head (as in a normal guitar) which is cool as it means you dont have to learn all the scales in 5ths. Also, on a nornal stick, the bass side has a much lower range. Sounds good though!

  • i can see the advantages, but to me it just doesn't look/feel right. but i agree it does sound good

  • Great playing. Can you share the tuning you are using? Also, are the pickups split so that you can play the two scales (left and right hand fretboards) through separate processors?

    Robert Mason

  • Hi Hettory,

Great playing on your new instrument. The perfect marriage of Stick design and guitar range. Thanks for posting and looking forward to more.

  • Great tune great tone, I just don't see the appeal of this instrument?

  • The appeal is the higher range available for those who don't want the low bass notes of the standard Stick. I have an Alto that's tuned an octave above my Grand. It's very addictive!

  • I really like the tone and phrasing. The SG12 sounds beautiful. Gotta have one! Thanks for posting this.

  • great feel and playing. The SG12 sounds wonderful.

  • Very nice!! How did you get a hold of one so fast?

  • Always a joy to hear you play. The SG-12 sounds excellent.

  • Excelente como siempre. Vamos de mal en peor, no? Solo paz y tranquilidad. Felicidades.

  • 5 Stars, Way to go Buddy, your Friend Frank Boxberger.... hope to see you soon.... Great video.

  • That's amazing. You should really work on your string bends. Other than that, you might as well be walkin on water. Good job!!!!
