Lasers were made from 90-94, only a hand full were AWD. I have owned several dsms, he bogged off the line which tells me his setup was effed up, plus It didn't pull hard up top. I'm not taking any thing away from the stang, but...
The laser's weren't AWD until 92; and were 7 bolts from late year on to 94. I've owned two different 5spd AWD lasers, GST, RS"T" laser, and another RS, and owned a few mulitple times after i sold them and stupid kids broke them. I'd say I've a SOLID 8yrs of those things under my belt lol...they were my DDs forever.
The laser cut a 1.92 60' there; which I agree sucks as I was constant 1.72s on an EVOIII. It definately had/has more in it but the kids who brought it down were kinda tools.
To my own chagrin though; the stang's 60's wasn't much better at a 1.87 as I need to replace my carrier bushings. My pinion angle goes to hell after it squats and the car spins. That and the shortblock is CASHED. It's going to take a very well driven and prepped DSM to run this thing back down next season. Unfortunatey at the track, the AWD doesn't shine quite as bright vs. a high HP sticky tired rwd car. Depending, it might get yanked every time off the line.
I've had several dsms in my lifetime along with a stang, camaro and t/a and a properly built awd dsm will kill just about anything out there. If the talon was awd, it is rare because you hardly ever see an awd laser.
the fact that you say "will kill just about anything out there" shows youre naive. what kinda 60' times do you pull with an awd dsm? i cant remember the last time i saw an awd car pull better than a low 1.7
maybe on the street awd has somewhat of an advantage because its more forgiving of road conditions, but even a rwd car on drag radials will hang with an awd car all day. and after youre rolling you dont have to carry around a transfer case, extra axles, and diff.
@wjpurnell they r rare cars man if u look it up on 100,000 sumthen where made compared to other cars that is rare mady ur friend juss got lucky an they where popular in ur area i have the only one aournd here where i live

Sorry man, car was def AWD as I've had quite a few DSMs along with my mustang.
Kid kinda sucked at driving and that car was a turd for its setup. He actually even redlighted. DR's and some tq do go a long ass ways though... ;-)

tell me bout it iv been looken for 5 years an just now finally got an awd laser an weirdly enuff the car is still in relativly perfect condition :D

well its clear in the video that they leave at almot the same time, the mustang tree'd him a little. but that car was FOR SURE awd.
the mustang had two things the laser didnt, drag radials and torque.

That laser couldn't have been all wheel drive, no awd drive gets beat off the line that bad unless they are sleeping.
