I hate how I like Yann Tiersen's songs, but I can't understand the titles... I find that to be pretty sad of myself... I need language classes. Seriously.

By the way, i visited london 2 weeks ago and i have to say that theatre remains wonderful and that masterpieces such as "3 days of rain " or "blood brothers" are every bit as good as any film so dont feel ashamed ;)
maybe you're just used to american cinema so much and so many movies are american cinema that it's easier to see something more pure in another outlet of cinema. if spain, france, or england for example produced a copious flurry of movies as did the US then you may see similar outcomes. just a thought...

all the big cities have ghettos, but that doesn't mean they are not great, i wouldn't recommend a tourist to go watch the ghettos of paris if he/she only has 3-4 days to visit the city, but u are right, paris is not always as beautiful as we think

I'd say french and indian movies are the best.
The have pure love, but in different forms!
American movies are about, violence, laughs, sex. Nothing romantic at all.
And English films, either theyre not around anymore, or its about how some gangster became powerful
