@astridbelge representing Denmark on a world scale, using their profile to fundraise millions of dollars for charities, promoting business from Denmark to the world and still able to hold their head high and still be dignified even though there is alot of bullshit stories and haters who are willing to bring them down. That's what makes them extraodinary.

yes, their prime minister does even more of that, what justify the PM receiving a much lesser allowance and salary than these two who do purely symbolic roles.

@astridbelge You pay for PM's for a lifetime. You continue to pay for them even after they are long gone from office, even if it was for only a few years, the taxpayer will pay for their retirement for the rest of their lives. Is that justifiable? The royal's work and live their entire lives representing their countries.

@astridbelge besides, the majority of the Danish population are willing to pay a little extra tax for their monarchy so who cares what everyone else thinks. They aren't telling you how your government should spend your taxpaying money. If they want to spend their money on keeping a part of their history alive, then more power to them. They don't have to answer to self righteous people who tell them how they should spend their money and think they know better than they do.
