this isnt some kind of sports car for gods sake. it' s a sedan weighing 2500 Kg. you dont just take for a ride at breakneck speed, or do burnouts with it. an besides anything on the car is worth a fortune to replace if it breaks, not to mention it has like 17 coats of paint on, if scratched it will be super- duper expensive body work to fix. if someone would like drive sports cars they should get a sport car.

I have had Jaguars most of my adult life and still own a 1991 XJ40, an 1985 XJS V12 cabriolet and a 2009 XJ8. So do not include me in that statement sir. I could tell you the names of the men who built the car your friends have just vandalised.
a) if you know them then please tell them to stop destroying a classic car. Also tell them they probably need an oil change and a magnetic sump plug to remove all the bits of the piston that have broken off.
b) I can tell you that they don't have more automotive experience than most of us or they would realise that what they did was stupid and not good for the car
c) That isn't driving at all, it is the ability to drop a clutch and hit the gas which is a sign of a bad driver (ask any racer)

It's a US market Series 3 XJ6, which means it is a 4.2L twin cam straight 6 making (when new) about 185hp and 220 lb-ft torque. Beautiful modern classic, but not worth a whole lot.
guys, the engine in this car is one of the best , smoothest, strongest engines ever designed. its most likely a 4.2l; trust me, it can take this, probably better than most v8s.

This sounds like an XJ12 to me. The XK6 motor just doesn't sound like that. The V12 also has far more torque/power.
