Anybody can create a program and claim anything about it. And even if it were that accurate, why is the investigator saying "there is no doubt," when there would be a 5% doubt. Sounds like a bit of propaganda to me. :)

@panettonea Even though anyone can create a program and claim anything about it, for it to be used by the police usually means that it has been tested and verified to be a reliable tool.

As for the 5% doubt, consider this. The software determined that Cain told the truth AND that Bialek was lying on two separate tests. Lets assume that both times it was wrong. That would mean that both fell within the 5%. The chances of that happening is 1 in 400. That would be statistically abnormal.

And I would like to see some data from independent studies confirming the 95% accuracy rating. Studies from the author of the program do not count, because of confirmation bias.
