P.S. The Veyron isnt the fastest street car anymore. The SCC Ultimate Aero is. 257mph, and its American. I believe it runs a Chevy LS based twin turbo engine.

A few more things. The highest horsepower Skyline GT-Rs are around 1500-1600whp. These engines are the RB26DETT straight 6 engine, not a V6. The new R35 GT-R (which isnt called a Skyline, just GT-R) arent much over 500hp at the wheels yet, the computer is a PITA to work around. The difference between a 1500hp Skyline and a 1500hp V8 car is that the V8 is streetable, some of them running on 93 octane pump gas. The imports are on race gas and not really street drivable.

You guys are retarded. First off, NHRA top fuel engines are 500ci based on a hemi style engine but they share nothing with any production engine. The blocks are cnc machined forged aluminum with pressed in iron liners. The engines make 7000-8500hp. The rear wing produces 12,000ft/lbs of downforce with the force of the exhaust gasses adding another 800-1000ft/lbs. The world record 1/4 mile et is 4.428 second. The high 3 second passes are since they changed to the 1000ft race.
