They average about 55 years. Is the patch on it's face from plucking? My Tres Maria does this if not bathed enough and given proper attention even if I am gone for a couple days and someone else is feeding. He is 33 years and still becoming a little more colorful so keep it up. 55 is the average in captivity.

awww a realy want a bird but my parents said not until i move out, and im only 13 so by than i might forget or not want it anymore :/ atleast they bought me a pretty beta fish, i havnt name him yet, so if he dies, i wont be as sad :l

Yes I know how you feel I have a 45 year old yellow naped Amazon named Casmo he and I are best buds. when I come home in the morring he is waiting for me with a I Love you and HI. I pend two hours up with him then i take a nap he sleeps with me sometime when i am sitting up in the chair. He is not a pet he is family I have had him for a long time don't know what i would do if he died

I have him set up for when I die they live a lot longer then we do some up to 120 years. The way he is he will.

That must be weird. You parents get you a Parrot or whatever for your birthday when you're 1. It stays with you your entire life and then you have to think about who's going to take care of it after you die.
