in the begining of the song, the melody and way marie sings from 0:14 to about 0:35 sounds like "ka nohona pili kai" by keali'i reichel... though i'm not saying its a bad thing, i love all her songs even though i can't completely understand some

They are really similar! In fact, Manoa DNA has a track on their album, No Place Like Home, called "Ka Nohona Pili Kai / Nada Sou Sou" in which they mix the two songs together. Check it out!
