its ashame they dont push kane any more but hey they dont push great talent any more and of course no great storylines any more i really think if it went back to attitude era or at least wasnt pg rating the writers would be able to do more
If Kane's reign had to last for a day back then, then okay; but for goodness sakes, they still should have given him a second and much longer world championship run.
How Kane can reign as champion for a day, and then 10 years later given him an ECW World title run- yet give someone like Khali a solid World Heavyweight title run is beyond me.
i definitely agree kane needed a longer title run, but he dropped it in a day because kane wasnt supposed to win the match. austin got busted open the hard way which caused him to lose (it was a first blood match). so they needed kane to drop the belt because he was never supposed to win it that night.
I think Kane's 1 day reign was probably the result of the WWF counterattacking everything that WCW did. Kane winning this match wasn't botched- it went according to plan.
But, it was around this same time that WCW responded with Goldberg- whom was a hot item at the time- winning the World Championship from Hogan. I think the WWF wanted to counter that by giving Austin back the WWF Title. After all, Austin was the WWF's main countermeasure to WCW's Goldberg.
@redsox1002003 I think they had no choice but to let Kane win this one because being covered like he was during this time, it was impossible to have him bleed...
@Carlitonsp1 Kane would have been a better and more dominant champion during this day than he is now. His current title run will only last 2 months tops I'm guessing.
I'm not too sure about King of the Ring 1998 most memorable PPV of the 90's- but it most definitely had the most memorable match not just the 90's, but also of all time.
11 years later, and that match still stands the test of time. Nothing will ever top that match, ever.
