@bernlin2000 Don't know a lot about them but think they have different vocalizations not too much different from house cats who meow, mew, chirp, etc. Different sounds mean different things - a big roar could either be a challenge to other lions or just to announce themselves maybe...not sure what the chuffing noise means (if anything) but it's still impressive. Startled a young bear outside the house one night and he made all sorts of weird chuffs and snorts...
