For example in the day we live in today people who are elected into position continue to provide people with a lifestyle that they could never maintain because do you want to be the person that says we must cut down in all sectors of course not because you would be voted out so fast. secondly most of the people that get into position at least in canada are complete fools.

@theredraven its no different then how democratics pay of people who they believe deserve it. When honory heros are given rewards and land and such. Happen in the past for the usa. Also what about democratics buying votes?? giving bribes to get what they want. But like I said before reward the people that serve you is to show them that you see what they have done for you its not different when monarchyies reward the people having festivals and such. @theredraven most countries are in debt because of this lifestyle that they can't afford but they try to maintain example ; Usa, Greece etc Now if we were in a monarchy things get done why because the monarchy is not there to please you he is there to get the job done the best way it can be done. and Of course the monarchy looks out for the people situation but is it worth destory you country over that No.

Daniel hit the nail on the head, we have to let the malinvestments of past be purged so that we can have viable economies again. Avoiding the short term pain is just going to make things worse in the long run... but that is what is happening in American, the UK and Europe. Recessions all around the world are being resisted with money printing and borrowing when really the recessions should be embraced.
