  • I wish they still had this type of energy.

  • 3:43 is the greatest thing ever.

  • 2:20- see him blowing his hair out of his face? lol

  • welcome back josh

  • 2:53 That was some slick shit o.o

I like Coheed that much more just for that riff right there....

  • 2:56 best part

  • 2:56

    wow thats the sex

  • Wow, the live performance sound exactly like the studio version. I love how the guitar tunes stays the same unlike most bands/artist which makes their live performances sound different from their actual studio album.

  • 9 people got raped by the Jersey City Devils and then murdered by their father.

  • 3:47 FALCON KICK!

  • sick bassist is sick

  • @BeauSylvester47 Funny comment is funny.

  • finally a real rock song for our times

  • theres this guy named chris at my school. he sings just like claudio. the first time i heard his voice i was like oh my god...i love you!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jadejailbreak that guy is blessed, if he actually has the unique enunciation then he will inevitably do something soulful

  • JOSH!!!!!!!!!!

  • Coheed's chemistry as a band is fucking impeccable. 3:53 Mic notices Claudio's rockin out WAY too hard and isn't at the mic, so he's like "I got your back!" And then proceeds to take over on the mic for a line, and does a damn good job if I do say so myself :O

  • looks like mayo made 9 youtube accounts..

  • 2:56 Completely involuntary, hands free ejaculation.

  • 3:47 = intense donkey kick

  • @razorramon310 LMFAO!

  • 9 people didn't get fucked back home.

  • april 9th :D!

  • I wish it was April! NEVERENDER HERE I COME!

  • 9 people wont fuck him back home :(

  • Is it me or is Claudio's guitar volume a little low?

  • @thegyzmkid He plays rhythm so...nope. It seems fine.

  • 2:55 - 2:56 Does anyone know whats that called and how to do that trick on the guitar?

  • @almzap i think its called the falling icicle effect and you run your hand up the strings while hammering on or something....not sure i dont play guitar

  • @almzap look up falling icicle on youtube, theres tutorials on it

  • @almzap Basically, you do a picn scrape (scraping the side of your pick down the strings) while hammering on various notes with your fretting hand. It's looks like a flurry of chromatic notes to me. Just keep practicing! :)

  • @almzap Sliding harmonics, it's done by doing a trill with your left hand and sliding your palm on the right hand up the strings.

  • my fv song.

  • 3:40-4:00... I jizzed myself.

  • I remember the first time i saw this, claudio picks his guitar up and plays with his teeth. I spent the rest of the day on google.

  • 3:55 Mic, that was fuckin scary... lol

  • @rockster07 it was fucking beast

  • Reppin Jersey.

    Coheed Fans of NJ Unite!

  • @lickmyballs2113 You know this song is about the assault and rape of Prise Josephine, right?

  • @ODSTD464 was she a prise? I though it was just Cladio's girlfriend before he leaves the plant. That's what I though I read in the comic.

  • @ODSTD464 damn jersey city devils :P

  • @ODSTD464 dont insult my intellegance as a coheed fan i know what the fuckin song is about, what kind of a question is that?

  • @ODSTD464 Josephine isn't a Prise.

  • @inculindsey whoops, i was thinkin' of ambelina.

  • 9 people got raped by the corner boys...

  • @Osama213 hahaha Niice !1

  • @Osama213 Fucked their shit up.

  • Im just gonna sing through my guitar, and then proceed to do a backwards power kick. You know why? Cuz im Claudio fucking Sanchez.

  • @Bareno91 im pretty sure thats not his middle name...

  • @jinx47555 Im pretty sure it is.

  • @Bareno91

I don't think he sang through it. He just played with his fucking teeth.

  • @Bareno91 my friend, this is the single most amazing comment ive read on youtube!

  • @MoxxyCrimeFighter01 D --> Hey dude, you're a douchebag.

  • @MoxxyCrimeFighter01 haha thanks man. didn't realize how many thumbs up that has lol.

  • Major band, but still too underrated!

  • It would suck if you had epilepsy and saw this.

  • @adio222 i have epilepsy, and i saw this. No problems, Coheed and Cambria just have that kind of power.

  • OK what is that called at 2:55 and how do I do it on the guitar? I friggin love how fast this god damn song is. The harmonics at 2:41 are ridiculous too.

  • @LaBak1337 its just a pick slide on what looks like the B string, while hammering on and off of the first and third frets. I dont know what its called unfortunately... but if you have a guitar and a decent amp just mess around with it. you'll figure it out.

  • @donut101 Badass. Thank you.

  • @LaBak1337 The harmonic is called the Falling Icicle if I recall correctly.

  • @TavenStar Ah thank you that's what it's called. I swear I've heard it called a "Waterfall" before too but whatever.

  • 3:44 waaaaay better than autotune!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • God I wanna marry him...

  • best performance ever, hands down

  • Scream loud, scream sayonara.. sweet josephine will you fuck me back home!!

  • CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE

  • fuk ya !!! ima make a cover of dis 1 fosho!!!!!

  • epic screams from travis at 4:00

  • The energy In these guys are unreal. Best music today

  • omg 2:41 is sickkkkk

  • 1:48 Right on Mic!!!

You guys were on top of the world this show : )

    So fucking awesome.

  • how does he do that scream into the guitar? i must learn it damnit!

  • @SCarsonSOAD Turn up your tone and volume on the guitar and your gain on your distortion. Either scream near the pickups or on the pickups with your amp loud enough and you should get it.

  • @AudioRorschach Thank You So Much Just got it to work! Much Appreciated. lol Trying to learn all the Claudio Tricks :P

  • SHABUTIE!

  • He keeps on missing a lot of phrases of the song here, but it's okay!

  • while I don't really like Coheed live

    I do enjoy this song

I clicked on it on youtube simply because of "jersey city' in the title

    glad I did XD

  • italian+puertorican=claudio sanchez + his amazing hair :p

  • so at 2:57 how do u do that? its more than just a pick scrape

  • @thisdayjustbelongedt "icicle effect"

    /watch?v=Cpt2Wjdg6O8

  • Hooray for auto tune. I don't think he needs it.... but whatever

  • what does it say on claudio's shirt.

  • @joes2250 Breaking Hearts & Breaking Guitars

  • this song is the best thing about jersey city.

  • hahaha sort of sounds like hes usin auto tune in some parts

  • i remeber this i was there it was great. these guys are better than rush

  • dear lord, claudiiooo, how i love you.

  • now this is real music. 5/5

  • this band is epic.. best ive ever heard, the new album year of the black rainbow is classic coheed. blakndwite, yea mike is a badaz bass.

  • at 3:43 he screams "Don't let them scare you" into the guitar. That is amazing. Thank you for pointing that out others who commented on the matter. xD

  • Todd is a monster. The best part of hearing them live is getting to actually here him turned up.

  • I love at 3:53 Mic is all "Oh shi- scream of improvision"

  • flyest bass ever!

    3:43 te 1337!

  • Claudio's hair will one day envelop and consume the world

  • hands down my fave coheed song.

  • @thekonfuzedman if you rock as good as the do you can make mistakes! long live coheed and cambria!

  • nice voice cladio 4:04

  • WTF?! Claudio is so fucking epic! He can make the guitar sing '' and don't let them scare you'' at 2:44 listen to it, it's fucking epic. I haven't heard/seen another musician that is more experimental and amazing as Claudio Paul Sanchez.

  • @MeetTheCryptid correction. 3:44. And I've just found out that if you yell into the pick-ups loud enough, you can hear your voice. But still, it's pretty fucking epic!

  • No shit dude....there is no more win left in the world. Claudio owns it all. All is right in the universe.

  • Yes! All of it! I'de happily take a bullet for Claudio. But knowing my look, Claudio has trained his hair to catch the bullet and throw it back ):

  • This is the best comment ever.

  • can someone tell me how travis plays that little prechorus part. sounds like harmonics but i dunno...

  • if it's the part i think you mean, its pulloffs on the top 2 strings from the 15th,14th etc to the 12th fret. mess around with it and you'll hear it, i haven't played this song in a whiile though so i can't be exact

  • unless you mean the little 2 note part later on, then yeah thats harmonics

  • @ptwxninja yeah just after "dont let them scare you" during claudios palm muted part. thanks

  • Dude, mike is the most amazing bass player ever!

  • well said!!

  • @whatsblakndwite lol yea, when i saw them in toronto, he was pluck sweeping like a mofo xD

  • @whatsblakndwite amen

  • @whatsblakndwite *Mic But yeah.

  • as much as i lovve neverender.. i think the yplayed alot of their iksose3 songs aloot better here

  • 2:56 is hammering on/pulling off the 4th and 2nd (or 5th and 3rd) fret on the G string while gently sliding the side of your hand up towards the neck, starting in the middle of the pickups for the best effect. i <3 claudio

  • 'nice, i guess'? ..the fuck?

    the whole performance was gnarly

  • @KemioSwaggGetsMilfs understatement

  • This is my favourite song !! Coheed for live !! and also IMO their best performance of this song besides Neverender :)

  • That thing at 2:56 was the falling icicle. Its essentially a shit load of hammer ons and pull offs, and he take his strumming hand and very slightly touches the strings, and slide up and down. Its fucking epic.

  • nice, i guess.

  • how the hell do u do that thing at 2:56?

  • @thisdayjustbelongedt its a pinched harmonic, basically, you pick the string, and let the string hit your thumb very slightly, the tone dpeneds on wehre you do that

  • no its not i can do pinch harmonics thats some weird thing with a pick slide and a bunch of hammer ons but i dont know exactly what it is

  • OMG so amazing..

    I love COCA..

Everyine should read the comic, sad this song goes with it.

  • all of them do, just not all of them dircetly speak about whats happening, its usually hidden or hard to pick out

  • i know, claudio said all the things in his comic books and songs and such really happened, expierences in his life.

  • what was that killer solo i heard Mic? xDD

Wonder if thats improv..not in the original at all xDDD

    3:15 :O

  • improv

  • Co&Ca always has some improv :D which is why they are 10x amazing live. and it was indeed Mic

  • ^^ yeah, coheed does improv live a bit,but its usually claudio with his vocals, its cool to hear a band not afraid to improv live, and then crush it when they do xD

  • my favorite is the intro improv at the beginning of time consumer at Starland ;D

  • HOW THE FUCK DID CLAUDIO DO THAT

  • DONT LET YOUR HAIR FALL's...

    HAHAHA...

    great band...

    LOL!

  • amazing backup singer and base guitar...wish they would play a song with a double base guitar ..!

  • Yea... and then they could have 4 drummers with triple bass pedals! Hardcore!!!!

    /s

  • this is probably one of the bands that gives you bad headache covering their songs. i mean all instruments played at the top level. amazing band.. DONT LET THEM SCARE YOU!!!

  • depends on your comfort zone in guitar, at first it takes a lot of practice to play and sing a lot of their songs but this one suprisingly is one of their easier ones

  • imagine no world for tom.

  • i know when u watch it live claudios hands are flying around the entire guitar and hes not even looking and just singing normally its insane

  • yah!. so much insane!. haha.

    LOVE them!.

  • 3:44 is the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life.

  • Well the pick ups sense vibration so if you yell loud enough into them with enough gain you can hear your voice. They can pick up weird noises from cell phones and stuff too.

  • Awesome :D

  • damn this was their best concert his voice is at his best at starland

  • Does Cladio scream into his guitar when he says dont let them scare you after the solo?

  • he screams into the guitar pickups and they pick up his voice

  • @Zedming yep, right into the pickups

  • @Zedming yes yes he does

  • @Zedming yes, if you have a lot of gain and you yell loud enough, it should work.

  • @Zedming You would need some rally active pickups to get your voice to go through. If it can pick up when you yell in your guitar it would probably pick up ambient sounds like feedback, bumping your strings, and other crap you don't want. I really don't have any idea how he did that without some weird pedals lol. If anyone knows please tell me lol.

  • @D3athCr33ps for some reason, with a delay pedal, the guitar picks your voice up. this is on passive stock pickups on my friends fake les paul.

  • @Zedming no... claudio was playin the guitar with his mouth

  • @captainhuggybear1 no zedming was right he wasnt playen with his mouth u can hear him thru it

  • @Zedming haha, yeah he does. hes so fucking awesome. you are very observant. (sp)

  • @Zedming

He's playing with his teeth because he's a fucking badass like that. I don't know a whole lot of people who do it, but I know Hendrix and Steve Vai have done it a lot as well.

  • @JackChaos He's not playing with his teeth. He's screaming "Don't let them scare you" into the pickup .

  • @ga27chief

You can't scream into pickups. Well you can, but it makes absolutely no sound. Pickups work by the strings "cutting" magnetic field lines and creating a current, your voice can't do that, not even Claudio's.

  • @deonblaster you can with active pickups

  • this is just so fucking awesome O_O

  • when it comes to straight up Rock and Roll among todays generation i immediatley think Mastodon and Coheed

and Travis really goes off in this shit...damn...much respect

  • Mastodon and Coheed are definitely the front runners, but there are some amazing bands you failed to mention. Much respect though :)

  • oh i know what ya mean man, there are definatley more, but i just dig the progy shit the most ya know?

  • No, I mean you missed out on some of the best prog metal bands of today. Intronaut, Gojira, The Number 12 Looks Like You, the Dillinger Escape Plan, Opeth, Meshuggah, and Psyopus are some of the best bands, both in prog metal and metal as a whole out there. Though I would agree, Coheed and Mastodon are the future of their generation's music scene.

  • i know i said that, plus dude i saw Intronaut with Kylesa(another great one) and Mastodon, you have some badass taste, Dillenger is off the charts insane, its just prog i didg the most

  • I hear ya. I should've been at the Mastodon/Intronaut/Kylesa show in Boston last year but I couldn't make it. Hopefully I'm gonna see Mastodon with Dethklok, Converge and High on Fire on the 10th. Should be nasty.

  • the future? coheed released their first cd in 2002, they've already made their indelible mark on whatever scene you can attach them to.
