@WolfSmasher it could very easily be strategy. randal comes out on the 0:05's, so as long as you're paying semi attention to the timer you can do this stuff pretty easily. i've seen m2k use randal knowledge in matches to his advantage before.
Well, there are many slight modifications to the rule, but the most used variation of the rule in tourneys today is that you can't counterpick with a stage that you've previously won on.
That's not technically part of the rule because that technically applies to anything. In theory, a grand finals match between two top players could be an itemfest on a banned stage with 10 lives each. It really all depends on if the players agree to it or not.
Wow at Darkrain ... serious shit. Great quick decision to trade stocks on their 2nd stock. Colbol is so fast >_>. Great set I can kinda see Colbol starting to lose his composure a bit though :(. Regardless great stuff
I love seeing fox and marth lose, although I have to admit colbols fox has some amazing shine spikes, for some reason the smash community seems to have forgoten all about shine spiking in favor of up smash and upair all freakin day. Great set though, very entertaining, although I like watching scars falcon a bit more than darkrains.
This was one of the most exciting sets I've seen in a long time. Colbols' Fox is definitely something to admire. Good shit to both. Good to see Darkrain's still rape as ever. GG...
once you get to a certain level at smash, getting better becomes just filling the holes in your game (i.e. having a response to as many situations presented by opponents as possible). moonwalking is cool, but in the end it doesn't do much for one's game that can't be done in a different way. deception and edgeguarding, maybe, but that's about it...
I've seen SS incorporate moonwalking into his gameplay pretty well and it is very effective. I understand what your saying, moonwalking isn't that useful. Not like wavedashing, lcancel, shffl, etc...but it can still be useful, and it won't make your game any worse if you use it right.

@WolfSmasher It's a mindgame lol. Colbol makes these seemingly obvious mistakes but they're all part of his mindgames: maybe

What a close match.. down to the last stock after 2:2.
Colbol is legit.

true, i like Dark better, but there isn't a rule about spot dodging too much is there???? ;)
Ipownoobz 2 years ago
i dont like colbol since he spot dodges a bit too often..like at 3:11
Darkrain ftw ! :D
ShiftingShadows28 2 years ago
he spot dodged just slightly too early. that wasn't really a bad time to spot dodge.

dont you have too add "unless they both agree to" ?or does that kinda take the stupidity away? ahahah

I love it when players do what Colbol did at 2:17. SS does it a lot and I think it's sexy.

I wonder why no pro falcon seems to use side b as an alternate recovery when they are getting predicted too much...
Balaskh 2 years ago
because of the lag and the punishablility and the fact that if it hits you die.
Sveet 2 years ago 5
Actually, I have seen darkrain use it sometimes, vs mango for example. Its VERY VERY situational though.
