I remember cutting medium to high grass years ago when this was my primary mower for trimming. Not wanting to install a replacement plastic wheel, I searched in vein for many years, for a new or used matching original. Never found anything appropriate. So I just used it with 3 wheels. The missing wheel fell apart. First the rubber separated, split and fell off. Eventually the wheel hub & bering cracked into 2 pieces.
At one point, I had a weak moment and sold the Toro to a fellow collector.
Thank you for posting. My senior lady neighbor had this type of Toro back in the early 1960's when I was a little kid. Toro was ahead of their time with the rear discharge. It blew the grass against the inside of the left rear wheel. Most mowers had side discharge which could throw rocks with potentially damaging results.
I would use that any day over a new piece of shit lawnmower. I have 2 old lawnmowers and those are the last mowers I will EVER need.
