It's important to listen to the young people because they are hip to the black boule, the loss of black dollars and businesses from our community as a direct result of Dr, King's efforts. He too was a black boule member and therefore, not at all acting in our best interest. While lynchings became illegal, integration, his main focus, destroyed us as a people. Without the tribe there is no prosperity. Dismissing those concerns means that nothing'll grow- for without the young, there's no future.
@ddsharper MLK in the beginning was a integrationist then later became a nationalist and encouraged blacks to start their own economic systems. He even formed alliances with Malcolm X to try to make us independence. He had regretted promoting integration to his people and was even quoted as saying:"i`m afraid i might be integrating my people into a burning house".Whites only like to show his:"i have a dream"speeches to manipulate blacks into thinking integration is the way to freedom.
What Dr. King Did was provide access to Additional captial which we were blocked off from do to Jim Crow. While many fondly look back at segregation, there is nothing that beats freedom. We have a choice to build together or get fall apart. I choose to build.

We've got to build black businesses now and not make excuses about what one or two did or didn't do.
