I remember getting into this music, listening to rock n' roll on my little Motorola radio.

I come from the NYC metropolitan area, and back then there were four Top 40 stations to listen to through the night - WMCA, WABC, WHN and WINS. Add WWRL, a soul station to the mix, and the was a plethora of music available.

The competition was firece with WINS and WHN eventually changing formats leaving WABC and WMCA, with B. Mitchell Reed, to battle it out.
