People can say what they want, But the Corvette is the Best Bang for the Buck, Can afford a Z06? They are plenty Fast C4 out there Super cheap, want more Speed than a 4 Plenty C5s out there. Want a Classic? there are 15 Years of C3s out there. They is a Corvette in everybodys price range. Can't say that about the other sports cars. Chevy makes them affordable for the rest of Us.
I never thought I would feel this way about an American car, but I absolutley love the Z06. I've been a Porsche fanatic for over 20 years, and owned carrera's, S4S's and turbo's, and tracked them all. I have pushed my Porsches and the Z06 to the edge. With a set of track tires on the ZO6, and some minor suspension work, I've passed everything on the track so far.
If you love to drive performance cars to the limits, you have to give Chevy some credit for this car.
vetts are nice but you cannot compare it to a exotic like a lambo etc because its not just about how fast it does 0-62 but its about the overall experience of driving the car, and how the car handle and how it make you feel. Fact: a 4wd R35 GTR or Porsche gt2 or lambo v10, or M5, or e55, or clk63, etc will destroy a vett any day around a track. no offence but us cars does not go around coners as well as european cars and its proven on and off the track.

Porsche, on the other hand, got rid of the 928 because the image-conscious snobs who buy their cars love the lines of the glorified VW Beetle...the 911. GM FTW. I LOVE THE Z06.

actually the front and rear fascia's of lots of cars are now plastic. but as for the interior the 08' modles have upgraded they are now compeatly leather dash and all. and the face plate is carbon fiber. i can make a vid if you want.
My father saw one first hand on his way back from Intel about a year ago. Some guy in a Z06 pulled up along side his Mitsubishi 3000GT, wanting to race in a narrow Tunnel going under the West Hills of Portland, Oregon. The guy floored it, went sideways in front of my father, and slammed into the wall of the tunnel, nose first. It was all over the news, and it was not pretty. The car desintegrated, no bullshit. My father made it out okay, no damage or injuries.

Lotus Exige, you mean supercharged GoCart from Toyotas engine dept?
I think the ZO6, like many people world wide, is not an exotic, but an every day supercar most people will never be able to drive to the potential, and its a helluva lot cheaper than Exige etc when it comes to repairs, and the Vette is more comfortable.
btw, the lotus exige belongs to one of the best handling cars in the world. To you americans it might seem like a supercharged go kart but man its in awesome thing. Exige has to be cheaper in general smaller engine gives less costs;)
I agree the Lotus is a world class handler. A friend has one here in Hawaii. I love it, it is all business. The Vette just offers more than handling. Comfort, Top Speed. Its all personal opinion to allot of the reasons people like the Vette. I love Ferraris, Lambos, Porsche GT3' and GT2's, and am not in any way saying Lotus is bad, I just think the Vette Offers more for the money.

Probably the best handling car in the world,and has the 0-100mph performance to match any car with double the horsepower output. So it cant do 200mph, so what, who on earth needs a 200mph road car? What you do need for the road is handling and acceleration. Do you need to go faster than the lotus's 168mph? No. Do you still have a car that can match the vette to 100mph? Yes.
Well no one needs a 200mph car, and the Vette (stock) comes close. But, it doesnt take much to get a Vette ZO6 to go faster than stock. All it takes is a reprogramming to get rid of Torque management the General puts in the ZO6 and you will see about 30-40rwhp and add a set of headers, change the alignement, and you will still be under the price of the Lotus, and will whoop it in every corner and track!!

I never thought I would feel this way about an American car, but I absolutley love the Z06. I've been a Porsche fanatic for over 20 years, and owned carrera's, S4S's and turbo's, and tracked them all. I have pushed my Porsches and the Z06 to the edge. With a set of track tires on the ZO6, and some minor suspension work, I've passed everything on the track so far.
If you love to drive performance cars to the limits, you have to give Chevy some credit for this car.

vetts are nice but you cannot compare it to a exotic like a lambo etc because its not just about how fast it does 0-62 but its about the overall experience of driving the car, and how the car handle and how it make you feel. Fact: a 4wd R35 GTR or Porsche gt2 or lambo v10, or M5, or e55, or clk63, etc will destroy a vett any day around a track. no offence but us cars does not go around coners as well as european cars and its proven on and off the track.

@mrsdemeanor280 GM actually purchased a 928 when they first came out in the late 70s and disassembled it in a secret garage. 20 years later, they put the EXACT SAME drivetrain in the C5 vette, and they now have one of the best performance cars in the world. Porsche, on the other hand, got rid of the 928 because the image-conscious snobs who buy their cars love the lines of the glorified VW Beetle...the 911. GM FTW. I LOVE THE Z06.

actually the front and rear fascia's of lots of cars are now plastic. but as for the interior the 08' modles have upgraded they are now compeatly leather dash and all. and the face plate is carbon fiber. i can make a vid if you want.

My father saw one first hand on his way back from Intel about a year ago. Some guy in a Z06 pulled up along side his Mitsubishi 3000GT, wanting to race in a narrow Tunnel going under the West Hills of Portland, Oregon. The guy floored it, went sideways in front of my father, and slammed into the wall of the tunnel, nose first. It was all over the news, and it was not pretty. The car desintegrated, no bullshit. My father made it out okay, no damage or injuries.

I thought to myself big deal, I was not impressed at all. People these "exotics" are overated and their marketing depts leads people to beleive in perception. That is what they are relying on. Granted they are very nice cars, but, c'mon not worth the money they are asking.

This video shows how the new corvettes are made and I don't get the feeling like they're "being cranked out like hot cakes." The automated processes keep the costs of the American super cars down. I wouldn't pay 4X more for a car of equal or less performance just because it was hand made by some guys in Europe and a name. I just don't feel like it's justified. If you do, that's great! Good for you!

As an American I only buy American cars, I wish more Americans would stop buying foreign cars. our car manufacturers aren't doing as well as they could right now. I'll never buy any overpriced european sports car because you're paying just for the name. With an American Corvette or Mustang you're paying for performance... I love American Muscle.

I think the ZO6, like many people world wide, is not an exotic, but an every day supercar most people will never be able to drive to the potential, and its a helluva lot cheaper than Exige etc when it comes to repairs, and the Vette is more comfortable.

I agree the Lotus is a world class handler. A friend has one here in Hawaii. I love it, it is all business. The Vette just offers more than handling. Comfort, Top Speed. Its all personal opinion to allot of the reasons people like the Vette. I love Ferraris, Lambos, Porsche GT3' and GT2's, and am not in any way saying Lotus is bad, I just think the Vette Offers more for the money.

Super-charged go-kart? Your basically fighting my arguement for me,Thats exactly what you want from a car. Probably the best handling car in the world,and has the 0-100mph performance to match any car with double the horsepower output. So it cant do 200mph, so what, who on earth needs a 200mph road car? What you do need for the road is handling and acceleration. Do you need to go faster than the lotus's 168mph? No. Do you still have a car that can match the vette to 100mph? Yes.

Well no one needs a 200mph car, and the Vette (stock) comes close. But, it doesnt take much to get a Vette ZO6 to go faster than stock. All it takes is a reprogramming to get rid of Torque management the General puts in the ZO6 and you will see about 30-40rwhp and add a set of headers, change the alignement, and you will still be under the price of the Lotus, and will whoop it in every corner and track!!

There's an all electric sports car now that does 0 to 60 in 3.9 or so. Called the Tesla Roadster.
