the group B rx7s that you will see are not 4x4 cars though. Rod millen and a few private groups did go this route, i have images of the componenets layed out and installed, but the factory produced cars were rear wheel drive and surprisingly, were not elabroate at all.
Seeing as i cant paste links. Do a google search for "Neil Allport Rx-7"
halfway down you'll see a Rallye-Info website, it'll be Neil Allports driver info page. Scroll down until you see "RX7 (FB/1) _" and click it. It will give you all the specs on the car in question.
@Gavyn84 If you look up "1985 Press On Regardless Rally" it does show some brief footage of Millen's 4wd RX7 and "1988 Ashley Forrest Stage Sprint" also shows it
wow bravo! i still think the rx7 group-b was the best RWD group-b car!!! lancia 037 had weight towards the rear, making it dangerous, including the porsche. Also the others, manta, toyota twin cam, ect had weight towards the front to much, and wasnt as light as the rotary engine. rx7 had 50/50 balance to begin with, with one very light yet powerfull engine
Man this makes me miss my 85 Rx7.

actually group b did have 4x4 rx-7's. perhaps you should follow your own advice (homologation number B-255) = 4x4 Mazda 13b turbo RX-7.
Gavyn84 2 years ago
Except that this isn't a 4x4 Rx-7...so your comment is completely invalid.
