Hello there. You're right, this trailer is kind of crappy, if You Youtube Nordwand you'll find the original trailer. I guess they made a dumbed down version for your market, I don't know why, ask them, ok? This is one of few movies worth watching from 2010 for several reasons. The basic plot is endearing, the characters are likeable and realistic maybe slightly idealised, the time atmosphere is credible and the climbing and the scenery is worth watching.

@Helghast470 Was it worth seeing? I quite like mountaineering movies and have had some experiences, but nothing like the Eiger. Anyone climbing the Eiger is in my opinion is very brave, but it must be done with extensive experience, equipment and due care. Mountaineering is a very dangerous past time. You can be the very best climber in the world but if circumstances are against you, you will sucumb. I knew Rob Hall who died on Everest and the fated expedition gained much attention.

Yes! It was a very good movie, it's just so amazing to see those guys climbing that mountain with such primitive tools. I also like climbing but not on those heights! :P Anyway, really worth seeing and you will get sweaty because some parts are just scary! I like the Alps, and the period (1936) is also very interesting. I really recommend this movie m8!

This trailer basically ruined the movie. From it I can tell that 2 Germans in the 1940's (Olympic athletes) will attempt to climb the North face of some mountain. One dies on the way up, while the other is stuck, fighting for his life to get back down to the woman he loves. Way to ruin the fun, editors...

This is a very bad trailer knowing how great the movie is. If your expecting this to be like a hollywood movie (fast paced, always on the edge of your seat, sex scenes and all that crap), then don't watch this movie. A movie does not have to be hollywood like in order to be a great film. The movie shows how difficult it was to climb the mountain in 1936. Overall, a great movie!! :D

Notice how they said 2 of "europes" best climbers-the first men to summit will be olympic heroes...Tibetan monks have been reaching the summit for centuries not using all the climbing equipent, but then again they wern't climbing the North Face. Still looks interesting.
