Holy shit a R1 in India! Did you get it imported or do they sell those there? Last time I went to India the fastest bike they had was a 220cc Bajaj Pulsar and that thing barely had 20 hp. And this is almost 200.

Yamaha Vmax down his street and I almost had heart failure ! The Vmax has so much Torque and power and definately isn't the ideal bike for a learner such as myself to be on ! Just a little twist on the throttle and

Wow.. Riding that monster with no gear at all, even at low speeds is dangerous.... It only takes one false move, a split second of losing control or messing up the clutching etc. to bring you to the ground... And falling off that thing with nothing to break the fall but your skin? in india they no one wears a gear, only a helmet. With the amount of traffic you just cannot go above 40-50mph max...may be on a few freeways you can reach 60-70mph for a few seconds. But in any case, they don't wear gears.

also, remember, it is just recently that these sports bikes have started to to sell in India, otherwise we always had smaller bikes which were used for commuting purposes as a replacement to cars - again remember, very low speed driving, a jogger can overtake you many times.

i know how it goes, i was riding in a sweat shirt before i got my jacket. I have my upper body completely covered with the jacket, gloves and helmet. I'm planning on getting some nice riding jeans too because regular jeans would shred to pieces if you came off the bike. Bike seasons pretty much over here in NY though ohh well.

First off I dont have a problem with Indians (in fact my GF is indian). As far as your riding goes- this is the complete wrong situation to learn to ride this bike. Find an empty parking lot or road and try it there. This looks like an accident waiting to happen. Not to mention it seems like all the roads in India are the opposite of what you would want whe riding an R1.

i wasnt really "learning" to ride the bike. have been riding bikes for over 8yrs now. its just that it was my 1st time riding the R1, and like with every new bike which belongs to someone else, you choose to be extra careful :)
