  • You only got tagged once. He was shooting the laser at the car in front of you and it picked up that signal and then he shot you with the laser s it went off again.

  • I can't believe the 995 picked it up! my 995 sucks so much! I've only picked up laser once in 6 months of owning it. However, I don't know how many times I have actually been shot by laser, but I feel like once is a bit on the low side. That and the Ka detection is like .3-.5 miles on a good day, and usually .2-.35 on a regular day. I can't believe I spent $220 on this thing! Has anyone else had problems with it like I have?

  • Most of the time if you're hit by laser, yes you're screwed. However; a laser detector can pick up a bounce from someone else's car, so it might not be you. Also you can always buy those detectors that advertise those bullshit "Laser barriers" that supposedly do a decent job of jamming it. However, you're not buying a half detector half jammer, instead of a full jammer of full detector. For normal city driving the 955 is fine; long highway trips..ehhh who knows.

  • Do you put your Beltronics on autoscan or manually?

  • ahhh i my stomach hurts everytime i hear that laser alert go off lol

  • coooolllllllllllllll

  • I think that was a laser save notice how the detector alert twice...

you might got laser shatters from the car in front of you...

the further away the bigger the light beam...

  • its in my hand right now :)

  • laser are nearly impossible, they are aiming it at you car. I'm buying this radar today for roadtrip

  • If you see a cop right next to you and your radar detector is not alerting you it does not necassarily mean your radar is not functioning correctly. Cops do not always have their speed detection devices on. Do some research and then post a comment!

  • Laser is tough because the signal is instant, either present or not. Unlike radar, there is no warning period from the dector. You're only hope is to 1) know the speed traps, or 2) pick up stray (deflected) laser not intended for your car (this way you'll get the warning from the dector before the cop gets a reading on your speed). So in terms of laser, you can't blame the dector, it simply cannot anticipate what the officer is going to do.

  • @Husoku whoops, meant to type detector lol

  • nice niceeeeeeeeee

  • I agree with most of the comments here, by the time my detector caught the laser it was too late. I was pulled over doing 80mph. The reason why this video probably detected the laser in advance is because he was doing the speed limit or lower. My beltronics radar/laser detector is now for sale.

  • @poby011 when i was going down this road in the other direction i saw this guy using laser so i decided to turn around and shoot it.

I agree that laser detectors dont make much sense but its always cool to record it.

  • @poby011 well the only reason why he caught is because laser unlike radar signals do not have a reflection or something like that the detector can detect in time, but yeah you're right that by the time you see the laser on the radar is way too late.

  • @poby011 You do realize laser can turn on in .3 seconds? Radar detectors don't have the powers of God. If they instant on you, you're fucked no matter which detector you have unless you have a laser jammer. The only way you can catch a laser if the cops been lasering other cars in the area for a little while.

  • 2 sheriffs patrol office passed by me from behind and this shit didnt even go off wtf. do i have to programm something? i had it on autoscan

  • @2phalanges just because a officer passes you doesnt mean there radar is on. its not a cop detector it is a radar/laser detector. that is why instant-on is not good for motorists.

  • cant the laser detect when another car perhaps ahead of you is being lasered?

  • @fapposkid cant the detector detect* (EDIT)

  • @fapposkid the laser is a very narrow beam at approx 1000 feet. the beam is only a couple feet wide. Unlike radar, which has a beam of a few hundred feet or more at 1000 feet. so it is more difficult to detect other cars than the one the officer is aiming for. However, there can be scatter from the laser gun that only high end detectors can sometimes pick up.

  • laser alert = to late you got a ticket

  • Once the laser detector has you, you've been had

  • far away! But i though that by the time you're alerted to laser, its already too late?

  • Finally a video that actually videos their radar, and that doesn't waste my time.

By the way thats pretty good. Thanks for the video!

  • @alexzracer2008 thanks. i had

  • Does anyone have a vid of the Escort C65? I can't find a video anywhere of this detector.

  • so if you had been speeding, that would've gotten you, correct?

  • What state is that in?

I've got a V955, but I've never encountered laser like this. Always K and Ka in MD.

  • @steamedturtle K and Ka I believe are RADAR bands not laser bands. Laser is on a whole different level, much faster at aquiering speeds and pretty impossible to slow down in time. Best bet is to get a laser Jammer.
