Constructively- it's hard for me to tell you to slow down your native speach. If you're speaking in 2-3 languages, I see no reason to "simply" your vocality. When learners see you puzzle the pieces together, they'll start doing the same themselves.

For instance, under MW, I couldn't associate "soft spot" to this scenario. A "sentimental weakness" for sweets? What the heck!?

In spanish (of Spain) we have something similar to the Japanese cliche "目がない" which is "Solo tengo ojos para" in english "I only have eyes to" refered to something you like so much.

For example, "甘いものに目がない"　could be translated to "Solo tengo ojos para el dulce" in english "I only have eyes to sweet things".
