  • I did not tape Savannah. I only have three videos of TAB.

  • did you record savannah?

  • are you the same guy who taped in savannah?

  • I was there too. It was my 3rd time seeing them. I am now looking forward to 7 and 8 over New Year's. They need to release a 3rd Gleam with all this fabulous unpublished music. So Awesome in every way.

  • I love that they are so passionate about their music.

  • i was standing right there, such a good show

  • The new album is gonna be beautiful

  • I am a huge fan of all of the Avett Brother's work, but this song is truely a gift. The arrangement is outstanding!

  • Hey fish guy, Lupie's husband here. You should stop using the word stupid. Ha. It's not stupid for an artist to not want their new stuff to become old before it's even released. It's exciting to hear a whole new treasure trove of songs as you buy a record and often new bands want to save that surprise.

  • Uh, we use "TAB" over on the TAB forums all the time. It's just an abbreviation when typing...no disrespect.

  • what?

  • You shouldn't post the new songs until they're released. It's wrong and the brothers have said they wish they weren't up.

  • that is stupid for many reasons, and it would surprise me if they really said that

  • Ok, ...um that was actually my husband who wrote before, but I do know that the avett brothers have sometimes personally contacted people to ask them to remove these videos of unreleased songs and it says this on their page "...the Avett Brothers and their managment have asked that new songs not be recorded and placed on youtube..."

  • i didn't mean to imply that your husband is stupid, but that such a policy regarding the new songs is stupid. I'm not sure what he meant by "it's wrong" but its been proven that internet exposure of unreleased material does'nt hurt album sales- if that is the concern. In fact, bands that have leaked selected tracks before releasing the a new album have benefited from the buzz created I think that is what youtube does. and for those of us who cannot see TAB live, this is an invaluable resource

  • haha, i didn't think you were saying he is stupid. I'm not sure what their logic is behind their wishes, i just know that it is what they want. Anyway, i enjoy seeing these videos too and apparently so does my husband or he wouldn't have been here to comment on it! Where do you live that you can't see them? They are usually pretty good about covering the country, i live in the middle of nowhere upstate ny and i am about to see them for the third time.

  • Alaska

  • Oh, i see...that could be a problem. I bet you don't get many shows up there. Do you at least get canadian bands to play around you or anything?

  • not really, although there are some good bluegrass bands in Juneau. It's coincidental because I'm actually from upstate NY too, and I was able to see a lot of live music there when I was younger. Ithaca is a great town for live music.

  • Where in ny did you live? and what moved you to alaska?

  • At least your state got a shout out in the the song St. Josephs. I for some reason doubt they'll ever mention Arkansas in a song. :)

  • Oh but they do! Listen to the first verse of Salina, "Ar-Kansas" or "Aw Kansas" it can be up to you!

  • they aren't saying Alaska, they are saying "Lake Junaluska" a lake in western NC. (I didn't know what it was when I first heard it either.)

  • chilixx- you're absolutely right! i'm not from the area so i had no idea. then one day i was looking at some picture somewhere, not even related to the avett brothers... i saw the lake and the caption and it was a major lightbulb!
