it will end the missionn and there is no really significant difference between solve the puzzle and put the command

In my personal case, i just can't see the lights, so i turned off the game and tried it again in the night time. It worked for me (I managed to see the lights!), so i spect that anyone can find this useful :)

i am having the same problems. i am 40+ hrs into a game that i can no longer progress thru, nor can i go backwards to "try again." which amounts to a huge waste of wasted time (despite being fun, this game is starting to make me realize how anti-productive and soul sucking it is to play rpg's) bethesda just lost one more customer. i am not going to play a game that reveals so many bugs whilst taking so much of my time. nor will i buy games from companies that release poorly tested products.

Hey guys! I restarted the game and nothing happens I couldn't see the light so shine =( But i use both spells untils a little beam of light (one at least) goes to the middle of one wall. When you do that, go to the switches and press once at time until the light of the buttons turn off. Then you can go to the next part of the mission =)

I can confirm that i had some problems with this... (downloaded game) there are some things that bugs along the game.. this is one of the things... after alot of searching and tab up and down, the game crashed. when i started it again... the lights and the spells worked and i complete the quest.... So the solution to the bug, Just restart the game !  If you dont got the Frost spell.. look for a table just behind the Console.. there lies a book that u can use.

Make sure you are using the spells they gave you from the table. DO NOT use other frost/fire spells. I was using Frost Spike instead of Frostbite and it would only allow me to alter the light beams once. Just equip Frostbite and hit the crystals until they move, then again, then again, until you see them align correctly

It's not broken. You have to focus the lenses on the ceiling. Start with the right most lens and hit it until the button is covered by a seal. Do the same with the other two until they're focused. Should continue on to the next step. The instructions are pretty vague, but it eventually carries on.

If you don't see the beams of light, just save and exit to desktop and open the game back up again. And the lights should be there.

I had the same problem, as I looked closer, the lights were there, just extremely faint. I could not change this even after updating my graphics card and changing the graphics around. I lined the top parts up best I could looking at the angles of the small mirrors and hit the crystal with spells till it worked. My husband did not have this problem so I could check his alignment against mine to make sure I have it right. He has a better card than I do so it looks like its upgrade time!
