it depends on what you wanna do. price are almost same as US. and if you stay at tokyo for a month, there are many monthly apartments and it may cheaper than hotel(2 Bedroom $900~1700 i guess.

Punkeltje... You're retarded. Believe it or not, some people actually want to go to japan because they apprecieate it as a beautiful sightseeing destination... They don't just watch anime and fantasize about hooking up with japanese girls....otaku.

since when does keeping eyes open cost money? sights can be seen without spending a fortune, too. Of course, if you want to buy stuff to bring home (such as the anime you mentioned), then it's gonna cost that much EASILY. Still, if someone has that kind of an amount to spend on a vacation, sightseeing or not, be my guest. I'd have to watch my budget in either case. I'd go there to eat, preferably, if I had the money to do it.

Not in any cities. More like $30-$40. On a $15-$25 budget, you might stay in a capsule hotel or a skanky internet cafe.
