Hey, this is really a dual response to your videos...but I was wondering if you could give a little lesson on your approach to playing over the changes of this song. Either in a comment or a video. Might be interesting for everyone to hear how you go about things in your head.
Also, as a response to your Zelda's Lullaby reharmonization, I think it would be really interesting to hear a similar video on Suteki Da Ne from FFX! Never really thought of it as a jazz tune in any way!
That was wonderful ... I really enjoyed that!! I've been working on "Confirmation" for a while now and I would love to one day play it like that. Well done!!
I really liked the solo Chorus, but I thought the head felt kind of rigid. The last head felt a little better, but I didn't really care for playing it up the octave.
Maybe try something wild like a really big arpeggio or smashing the bass keys in syncopation to break up the eighth note runs. Over all this is a nice recording - good work man!
You're left hand comping is nice and simple with good voicing. As for the swing it does feel a little stiff at times but you've got some really great licks. Some ideas for the solo section: Try to incorporate some more dynamics as a lot of your solo starts to become background when you keep playing up and down the chord tones on those ii-V-I's. Give those cool licks a break and try doing some thicker blocked chords, or let the rhythm play out for a few bars.
