  • high fruicose corn syrup is basicaly prosest corn, not real corn, my favorite soda is pepsi throwback, tastes so amazing AND made with real suger, i suggest u buy it, some people dont know how corn syrup is unhealthy, i understand cuz of corn, but all sodas today should go back to natrual suger, it taste wayyyy better with suger

  • RIGHT! It's cheap! If you want to pay $3 dollars for a can of coke, that's your right! I assume you work and have money? Sugar is just as bad! Too much sugar will give you diabetes. My father died if diabetes. There's too much sugar and starch in EVERYTHING. Diabetes and obesity is on the rise! Why Sugar & Starch!

  • I gust swock up yello cap coke around honika

  • corn syrup sucks and makes food gross. I had this soda i bought from a gas station and it didnt have hfcs.I opened it and drank some. I put it back in the fridge and it was there for weeks. I drank it again and it wasnt even flat! It tasted the same from the day i opened it. I was shocked.

  • Yes, it is to save money. But here is a small calculation:

A can of soda contains 39 grams of sugars, and costs about 40 cents in a 12 pack.

A 10lb (4540grams) bag of sugar costs $6 at the store. I am sure much cheaper in bulk. It contains enough sugar for ~116 cans of soda. So, the price of sugar for a can would be an additional 5 cents tops (not counting the money that would not be spent on the corn syrup).

Personally, I would pay the extra 5 cents.

  • U want more info' good,me too. "Its not natural if it doesnt occur in Nature." What occurs in Nature isnt necessarily good 4 U either- eg Fluoride. We need 2 b careful how we say some things-I think. B glad when U see Jaggery & properties on Web Natural sugar from cane & palm (?) isnt processed-so th minerals & goodness still in it, as opposed 2 white &dyed-brown sugars. It's DELICIOUS & U'l never need chocolate (veg oil/HFCS? ) or lollies again. ME & Indian grocery shops sell jaggery.

  • I saw a commercial on tv about this the other day. It has the same nutritional value as sugar, so its basically the same. I have 2 objections to this. First of all, nutritional value isn't all you should look at. It has other long term effects on your body, and has been linked to different liver problems, obesity, and diabetes. You could drink a glass of poison, and it could have the same nutritional value as sugar. Thats what high fructose corn syrup is, just not as strong.

  • high fructose corn syrup messes with your brain and tells you you're not full when you are full...

  • Corn? This is the least of your concern.Just don't eat it and don't eat any by-product either...like cornmeal, corn oil, corn this and corn that.

  • What are your thoughts on the Aluminum Industry & Fluoridation.Greedy fuckers, who, if fluoridation stops, that house in the Hamptons will have to go...ahaha...fluoride in the drinking supply...and don't think you are getting away with no fluoride, when you buy bottled water. They have contaminated the oceans with fluoride as well...since the 40's this has been happening.

  • The only reason HFCS is cheaper than sugar in the US are the tariffs that are put on imported sugar. The rest of the world uses the cheaper sugar. HFCS and sugar are nutritionally identical - both are bad for you. My advice is to cut out all sugary drinks.

  • @Aught3

    EXACTLY!

They tariff tax the shit out of cane sugar, then give farmers incentive to devote corn for fuel and for making the HFCS poison!

  • @Aught3 I agree with you that HFCS is bad for our health. However, it's not the sugar itself that is bad for us. It's the large amount we intake on a day to day basis. HFCS is classified the same as sugar, but not always. And more importantly, it doesn't taste exactly the same as sugar. Sugar is better for us than HFCS.

  • Here in the UK all of our soft drinks are made with either cane or beet sugar.

  • I prefer the mexican coke because has sugar cane sugar.

  • Pepsi and Mt. Dew Throwback for the win

  • you can get cane sugger coke at your local costco... but its hard to find just look for the glass bottle but look if it says cane suggar on them

  • They now have Papsi and Mountain Dew "Throwback" on a 2 month trial run, it tastes so much better with regular sugar again! We need to vote with our wallets and make sure they adopt this as the norm!

  • I like Pepsi throwback better than HFCS. I have them for now.

  • Also, I keep them until I gave my friend's birthday cause her favorite is Pepsi. I am not big fan of Pepsi. I am big fan of Coke. I never tried Coke with natural sugar NOT HFCS.

  • HFCS contains mercury No amount of mercury is safe mercury melts brain tissue its a fact HFCS contains mercury wake up wake up no debate

  • what?! Really, how to know about it?!

  • Amen to that!! Also from the research that I have done High Fructose Corn Syrup also impedes the Thryoid! NOT GOOD!

  • AMEN brother!! I agree with you 100% Does anyone want to join a class-action lawsuit against Coca-Cola...their "Classic Coke" NEVER contained HFCS like it does now!! When I went to France last year I had a Coke, it tasted SOOO much better than the USA version, why? It did NOT contain any HFCS. Let's sue the ba$tards!

  • AMERICAN COCA COLA- sweetened with HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP

  • ƒ¨ç˚ ¥ø¨ ß¨©å® ß¨ç˚ß ˙ƒçß ®øç˚ß⁄⁄⁄

  • well said man.

  • Why is High Fructose in all of our food? Why is it so hard to find food without High Fructose Corn Syrup? Why is food without High Fructose Corn Syrup also listed as "All Natural" and cost so much more money? To be healthy and eat healthy you have to read food labels and spend more money. You pay one way or another either up front buying healthy food or as a co-payment at your doctors office.

  • Go to Trader Joes and you won't find any HFCS in that store. I only buy water from regular grocery stores.

  • Luckily I can find Jones pure cane soda in my grocery store.

  • Lucky Ba$turd

  • TreeClimbingMan AKA Joey is leaving you tube because the corn industry is on his case about speaking the truth. The milk companies are also pushing him to close his you tube account. Sad, but true! You speak the truth your going to get squeezed off the Internet!

  • try ZESTO SODA FROM THE phillippines, sweetened with honey, grapefruit soda

  • watch psychetruth 's videos about it, they say it best.

  • That is funny that you say that, I just got finished watching that video! I had just added it to my favorites.

  • What is unnatural about it? It is 55% fructose and 45% glucose. Sugar is 50/50 Fructose/Glucose. HFCS come from corn, suger comes from sugarcane.

  • were you not listening to the video? its unnatural because it cant be found in nature which makes it pretty obvious that we weren't meant to eat it. and besides way more than half of all the corn here in the US is sadly GMO. if you dont know what monsanto is all about then you should research them. they MUST go down if the next generation is to have any sliver of hope for a normal life.

    anyway PEACE

  • I did listen to the video. Corn can be found in nature. HFCS comes from corn. Sugar comes from sugarcane. His only argument that HFCS was bad is because it is cheaper. Does that mean that if broccoli is more expensive than green beans, does this mean green beans are bad because they are cheaper? Just because something is cheaper to make doesnt make it bad. Now it might be a good sign that it is, but it doesn't make it bad. I used the think HFCS was bad. But name one unnatural ingredient in HFCS.

  • In this video I was saying that I had just heard that it was bad and was asking my fellow YouTubers what is bad about? I've got quite a bit of feedback since this video was made and have learned quite a bit. Check this youtube video, it sums up a lot of what I have learned: watch?v=67NMir6K0xk

  • I'll check it out. thanks.

  • Dude!!!!! why the fuck are you defending hfcs?????!!!!!!!!! even if there was no such thing as hfcs and there was only corn syrup it would still be horrible! ! ! are you telling me that you trust corporation's like monsanto? are you telling me that you think genetically engineered food is natural?!!!!!!!! I would love to hear your definition of the word natural... you should read up on Monsanto and consider eating organic or NON-GMO foods unless you're proud to be eating the work of EVIL!!!!!!

  • HFCS comes from natural ingredients, but it of itself is refined. But so is sugar. I listened to the other video that NorCal recommended. I was not trying to say that HFCS was good for you. My point was that some people will see HFCS and say it's bad and then see something with sugar and think it is good. They are both bad for you. That is why you have to use them in moderation. Sugar from fruits is much better than the sugar you buy in the store. Because that sugar isn't any better than HFCS.

  • you just ignored my questions! HELLO?!!! are you stumped?

  • I wasn't defending a corporation. After more research, HFCS itself is not natural. Neither is the sugar that we use. It comes from natural products, corn or sugarcane, but they have been changed. My definition of natural is things that are found naturally in the world. Obviously HFCS is not found naturally, so I was incorrect in saying it was natural. Should have said it is as natural as the sugar we buy.

  • "Things that are found naturally in the world" you just used the word in the definition but whatever i understand what you're trying to say. so then what about genetically engineered corn? you think that genetically engineered corn is found naturally in the world? do you understand what genetic engineering is? i think you have some re-search to do sir

  • I know I used the word. I couldn't think of another word to use at the time. But like you said, you know what I mean. I do have more research to do. Go back and look at my first post I put here. I asked, what is unnatural about it? I have heard people say you should use sugar instead of HFCS, but the sugar they used is just as unnatural as HFCS. If you have any good places to do for research, let me know. I was however wrong in saying it was natural.

  • FUCK THE HFCS, FOLLOW NATURE NOT MAN MADE sugar

  • @jbh2816 HFCS is genetically modified to appear "sweeter". I would say that it is bad because of the fact the it is not natural and that sugar is better because it is. Simple. You raise a good argument :)

  • donhdagger: Of course corn has been around the Americas for a while. Go ahead and eat corn cause it contains fiber, vitamins and minerals, but I don't think the natives were breaking it down with special enzymes to make concentrated sugar out of it.

Everyone knows pure sugar is bad for them, but HFCS is concentrated and altered and some research indicates it may be worse.

Do you want to save the grease from your meat and just drink it? It's all natural concentrated meat, right?

  • 1. HFCS can only be broken down by your liver whereas regular sugar can be broken down by every cell in the body.

    2. HFCS does not cause your body to release insulin which means you can keep eating/drinking without feeling "full".

  • I would also recommend episode 19 of "Turn off your TV" podcast on this subject which contains a discussion on 3 popular unnatural food additives.

And regarding your favorite soda brands, you could probably still it in ethnic/import stores. In Mexico for example, they still use real sugar in soda.

  • I noticed that. Many of the corner stores around here, thanks to NAFTA sell American brands that are imported from Mexico. One of them sells glass bottles of Coke, bottled in Mexico, that are labeled as having sugar. I wondered if they just had looser label laws and were just calling HFCS as sugar, but I guess this answers my question.

  • Very good, thanks for the information. This is exactly the kind of detail I was looking for when I made this video.

  • I *dare* you to find a hotdog or hamburger bun WITHOUT hfcs in it. It's impossible. Also beware of MSG.. hidden under the phrase "natural flavors" in products. Try to get away from that...good luck.

  • you can find those at wholefoods... they do exist... among other things without HFCS. it takes some time to read all of those ingredients labels... i know because i am allergic to HFCS. its also hard to find salad dressing and tomato sauce... once you start reading labels, you'll be amazed what you find out. HFCS is in everything because it is so cheap, but we really don't need all of that extra "sugar" its just a filler. try to avoid it, you'll feel much better if you do.

  • Dude, you are right on target! They blame the belly of a man on beer! It's not A Beer Belly! It's a HFCS belly.....

  • this is exactly right. its in EVERYTHING and its only in EVERYTHING because its a cheap substitute for sugar. I cant believe they have commercials for it now saying that its good. the US food industries are whacked.

  • I agree its the most diabolical thing, since the aspartame commercials.

  • Dextrose, aspartame are tow other poinsons that someone is feeding us.

  • HFCS will make you sick, it is addictive, reaises your appetite, and it is corn syrup broken down with chemicals to be higher fructose. Where did you find Soda without it in it???

  • Hansen's Natural Soda switched over from High Fructose Corn Syrup during the last year. They are now made with "cane sugar." I believe Blue Sky Soda also makes theirs with Cane sugar.

  • Very good subject! I eat rasin bran all the time which has "high fructose corn syrup" it pisses me off that they don't use real sugar. But I guess it tastes too good to resist. that is rasin bran what im talking about lol.

  • good info this was nice of you to share

I think you should watch the movie and give us a reveiw of it in other words tell us what you learn lol ;) im playing but that would be cool

good points and i know knothing to tell you about it TRUE FACT

  • You are what you eat, eh?

This has always made me curious.

If I eat a lot of mexican food, does that make me mexican food?

    haha...

  • No! It makes you a spicy nacho!

  • Haha! I am one spicy nacho!

  • I always eat potatoes and watching TV, so that must make me a 'couch potato'. Pun intended...

  • Corn itself wasn't made by nature. It's purely manmade.

  • That's quite interesting.

How did corn come about then?

  • now thats an intersting notion, but tell me how did the aztecs and myans manage to create this supposed manmade vegetable? Because if its entirely manmade as you prepose then they are the ones that would have to have done so since they were growing it as well as native american indians long before it was "discovered" by early explorers and taken to europe and great britan.

  • You dont even understand what we are talking about, we aren't talking about corn syrup, its high fructose corn syrup, which is genetically modified.
