So damn true. When you transition between two art forms, things get lost in translation. To take something like Shadow of the Colossus and turn it into a film would be a disaster because it's about being truly immersed in the world that was made. If Hollywood made a film it would have a to give SC a worded script which would probably be cheesy and everyone that has played SC knows that the way the story was told in it was beautiful as is. You could truly, like Guillermo said, "F**k it up."
The only real way I'd be happy to see Shadow of the Colossus as a movie would be if del Toro did it. It's my favorite game, and I don't want them to mess it up as a movie. I do agree with him though. It's such a rich experience, you're better off playing that game then seeing the movie adaptation of it. Never have I experienced such a myriad of emotions while playing a video game.
@infrafan Same with me except it was Red Dead Redemption and World At war. WAW not so much, that showed me games can build suspense like del toro was saying but RDR definitely got me into the game
@ASDMarauder007 Yeah, and, like SotC, by making the ending interactive yet unavoidable, giving you a sense that you can change the events that are already laid out, it hits you even harder. That would be a lost factor in a film version for both those games.
COD:WAW i loved that game so much.
