star 1076....i hear you....we Iranians are racist....i am not speaking for the nation but i can tell yo this much that poor afghan people in iran have been treated like animals...Iraninas even say afghani to some one they like to embarrass..i dont know why Iraninas think they are so ahead of the reast of the region ....racism sucks and iranian are no 1 at it...i dont know why though
this is so sad that as an Iranian guy I can't go to visit my country and may end up in jail and these tourists can come and go as they please...just not fair. I miss Iran damit.
I can't believe this is the land that is lead by an anti-semitic beast that denies holocaust, and where homo sexuals are executed.. it all seems so nice and calm rigth there
You have no idea how they treat afghans as if they were not humans. I hate this country from the botton of my heart. 6 of my family members were killed in one day and there was no trial only because they were afghans. The only crime they had comitted was that their son was in love with a iranian girl and the girl had asked the boy to come to her house to ask for her hand , but as they were to enter the house the girls father started shooting at them killing all of them instantly.
Excuse me there are more Persians of African Descent in the south than there are in China. And the racism from Persians I have encountered has NOT been in Iran but here in the United States where they drank the kool-aid and believed the hype that they are better because that worship at the alter of the white man. Again I NEVER EVER EVER experieced racism in Iran. From the Caspia to Bandar Abbas I was treated like gold. Only IN THE USA they act nasty towards blacks and Latinos especially in LA.
I am Half Persian and Half African I felt safer in Iran than I did in some parts of the United States and also I did not feel the sting of racism with Persians in Iran but Persians in America are a different story.
@AlmazB have u been to south of Iran then? Are the people in south Iran darker than those in north iran? I read somewhere that about half of Iranians actually test as Semitic in DNA tests.
@websurfer554 Yes I have been to Bandar Abbas and Abadan in the South and a lot of those people are of Afircan And Arabian Iranian Descent. One has to remember that at one time PERSIA was a great empiire and many different peoples pass through there also casue it was the main artery for Trade in the Silk Road. So in Iran you have Asian looking Turkomen. Baluchis African and Arabs in the south. It is a BEAUTIFUL country. Of BEAUTIFUL people and a very rich ancient culture.
@AlmazB Hmm but you said you are half iranian .so i ask and others asked you the same do you speak farsi if you are half iranin and my question were your mom or dad iranian .i think you misrepresented on your comment .anyway you are sound like a nice person i enjoy talking and possible to make friend with you ..
@bryana28 No I Clearly answered your question YOU asked me which half I said my mother, I just added that both parents are Jewish. You asked if I speak Farsi Yes I do but I speak better hebrew Thank you YES my mother is from SHIRAZ, IRAN. Have you been I was there in 2008 for a cousins wedding.
i have been to iran many times and recorded in public, in bazaars, streets, people, government buildings and more. NO one stopped me, if fact some of the basiji would come up to me and smile and ask me where i was coming from...they seemed very polite; even one time a lady in chador stopped me, and the minute she found out i was from kharajh she become more tolerant and respectful. I geuss my funny farsi accent gave me away. i love iran, and never have felt threathened when i go there.
Recording in public places in Iran is not banned officially (att. yasflower) but if EAR388DUST876 found everybody so welcoming is only because of being a foreigner tourist otherwise trouble awaits any Iranian shooting pictures in public in most places in Iran.
In the West taking pictures of private property or people is prohibited even if it is a public place such as a mall unless taking snapshots of those you know closely. not so in Iran but still mostly foreigners are not treated so badly.
hello Beenob, i am not a foreigner, i am an iranian, i was just raised outside of iran. They knew i was an iranian, but i am sure they were more polite or understanding since i was not living in iran. You know, i have been to many countries, and yeah iran seems threatening from an outsider point of view, but i have been to england, germany, turkey, etc...and they were very rude and disrespectful when it came to taking pictures. NO matter what Iranians are more civil when it comes to visitors.
Hi EAR..., I am an Iranian too, living outside Iran. Taking pictures of "private property" in most civilized countries can put you in trouble, even as a foreigner visitor. It is internally a good law although taken to the extremes in USA at least: here, "The law is not for people, but people are for the law!," just as in the IRI, Islam is not for people but the reverse is true! Again, in Iran, we are welcome, for a short period of time, as a guest, but not as a native, sorrily!
