Sorry man, you're the stupid one here. Sha-ken (車検) regulations in Japan state that manufacturers must electronically restrict production cars to 180 km/h, so the stock factory clusters only went up to 180 km/h.

You are thinking of the MINE's or NISMO clusters that have 320 km/h

Did you notice why all JDM cars are generally limited to 280hp (the old ones) even the Supra TT was 280 in Japan, and 300 in North America. There was actually an ecu wire that could be cut in the R32 that would increase the boost pressure. Nissan did this on purpose and it raised it to about 300 hp.

2. Its a BNR32. Genuine GTR, a common sight here in Australia.

Actually it IS a GTR, as it has the front torque gauge in the upper left hand side of the instrument cluster, the only GTS to have that is the HNR32 GTS-4. Further more, it sounds like an RB26, as the RB20 and RB25 engines have a more Supra-like warble, rather than the GTR rasp.

agreed, the M3 is the performance bang for the buck car today. I'd get a used e46 and saved the rest for maintenance, insurance, and gas. the shift indicator is there not to "save you from destroying the engine and drivetrain" thats why the RPM lines on the dash turn red, instead of white. besides, the car won't let you take it up past the redline, it's hard to describe but it kind of just stops giving the engine gas and then once you drop below the redline it gives it gas again. and it keeps going this until you shift up.

actually when ppl are spending 10k+ modding their rides. a tacho with a shift indicator is a must. u cant rely on the redline on the dash alone. its there for the cars stock per4mance, so wen u start adding things like bigger cams custom valve timing or other aftermarket internals u need to kno wen ur boost is at full pressure and ur redline.

rev limiters will often onli be in car from year 2000+. older lan evo, skyline, RX7's, silvias will need rev limiters. how do u think ppl blo ther motor

Rev limiters aren't only fitted to 2000+ cars... My father' 96' Toyota Corolla had one, my mother's 91' Honda Civic had one too and yet my best mate's 90' Nissan 300 ZX Z32 has one as well.

People blow their engine because they cant gage the boost pressure of their stupidly big turbos or because they keed on hitting it until it breaks down and make the engine to blow. In fact, there are many ,many ways to blow an engine... If you can notice, its only cap kiddo that blow their engines..

The reason the speedo surges like that is because it has a streched/worn speedo cable. Pretty common on BNR32's. Mine jumped around like a fat kid on a trampoline from 0-50 km/hr when I first got it.

Dials are in KM/H.. this car is in Australia. The speedo 'sticks' as the speed gets higher, its not the clutch slipping, or the car surging or whatever. Speed goes up smoothly, trust me.

r32gtr is only in KM/H unless he put on a MPH gauge.. but my friends only shows 180km/h as the top speed, just like this video.. so unless he recalibrated the speed sensor, and replaced the gauge to MPH somehow its kilometers per hour.
