why would womens lib groups have anything special to say about a fist fight? i find the basic idea that you think they should have something to say about it a bit weird.
a punch in the face is a crime, it should not get any worse or better depending on who you punch.
Professor should be canned/fired for punching that woman in the face! I think that boy needs an attitude adjustment as in fired from columbia U. charged with hate crime and when he's sent to jail treated like a biatch.
Whoah, I think you need to watch your logical leaps. The stimulus' influence was exaggerated, I can see that (especially given the difficulty in predicting numbers of jobs created, lost, saved, etc. based on specific policies). But I think it's problematic that you used this to quickly switch to saying that this "proves" your idea that somehow everything about it is false.
If a statement like "create or saved jobs" is made and cannot be backed up with concrete figures then is it a lie or the truth? If it cannot be proven then it cannot be used to make decisions so by that logic it is bullshit. Most politicians and administrations make bullshit statements but this administration has taken it to a whole new level of absurdity!
The difficulty in quantifying the number of jobs lost or gained by certain political actions is the problem here. However, the majority of economists (even some with a conservative bend) have admitted that the bill created some jobs which would otherwise be lost or not created.
The jobless figures are also b.s. because what happens when you drop off the radar and you nolonger collect unemployment insurance? The gov stops counting you in its unemployment figures. So the published 10% unemployment is probably closer to %16 or %17 now. Most economists don't live in the world of reality and wall street is mainly driven by perception and not fact! Unless a statement can substantiated via empirical measurement it's a lie/bullshit. Touchy feely proofs don't count.
Wow, you succinctly show why it is you are full of crap. In one sentence, you claim that "most economists don't live in the world of reality" as a means to completely discredit the opinions of those experts who disagree with you under the assumption that they don't use empirical measures; the next, you use a projection of the real unemployment rate which is compiled by the same economists you discredit as if it is separate! Go learn about economics before you spout out this sort of crap.
Thats like saying go learn philosophy before you opine. Science is black and white, Engineering is black and white. Economics is B.S. Psychology(on a massive scale, communications, national security, and CYA). My experience based upon service on wall street Credit Suisse(as an IT person) and at the U.N.. If you think you're more qualified based on your vast experience then present your case. Don't just yell fire to distract ppl from the facts you clearly don't understand.
Actually, it's like saying that your opinions about economics are B.S. because you see all experts in that field as unreliable yet take their economic projections when it suits your ideological needs.
You don't seem to understand that just because economics isn't black and white doesn't mean it's nonsense, and that the average economist knows quite a bit more than some IT punk who just wants to justify a belief which is not founded upon evidence.
@Grn0a R u some sort of closet economist that takes personal umbrage to my opinions on their efficacy? What "evidence" do you present that supports the performance of economists? I know collegues that have worked their way up through the financial industry without benefit of an economics degree that have a MUCH better record of predicting economic turns and weathering those storms than your precious economists.
I have a problem with people who sidestep facts and analysis which strongly clashes with their political and/or economic views by dismissing the opinions of experts whenever they disagree with you (but then using them whenever they do coincide with your views).
Can you explain why it is that you disbelieve economists yet will accept their projections of real unemployment?
Wow, go back to high school and pass a basic economics course before you speak. Then again, I suppose it is the apex of optimism to expect a fan of HTWW to either learn the slightest bit about the topic they're arguing or shut up when they don't have a legitimate case to make.
When someone comes on here to debate economics but makes a comment that indicates that they know absolutely nothing about economics, it doesn't merit anything more than an insult. The multiplier effect is a basic and well-understood macroeconomic theory, yet you dismiss it out of hand.
Since you gave no evidence to support your claim that radically clashes with a most basic study of economics, there's no point in treating that as a serious argument.
@Grn0a "most basic study of economics"? You mean the study of progressivism & liberalism in wich morons like you presume to tell others they must give what they make because others refuse to work. You also presume to tell me this is the only true economics. Sorry no points this round.
You desperately need to go get an education about topics before you rant about them. Assaulting economics as being inherently liberal or progressive is frankly infantile and ignorant. Concepts like the multiplier effect that so frightens you are agreed upon bases for economic study--although different views exist on their economic effects, they are agreed upon realities.
I notice you still haven't done a thing but go on conspiratorial rants to back up your claim--I'm still waiting on that.
If you can prove how economics is only liberalism, do it. I suspect that you can't, because you simply parrot partisan nonsense to justify your disbelief in people who know more than you.
@Grn0a You are complete retard. You are thye 1 saying liberalism is economics not me moron. You should try actually reading the comments before mouthing off.
I suspected as much: you can parrot unsupported arguments but you can't actually back up a damn thing you say. Maybe once you go back and get your middle school diploma it would be worth my time to talk to you, but I sincerely doubt you have the mental capacity to do that.
No muslims in the militray. There is a saying don't be so opened minded your brain falls out and there is don't be so stupid that........a muslim asshole whom the majority we are at war with is STANDING NEXT TO YOU!!!!!!!! All religoin will be the end pf us which reminds me of a quote "Most religions prophecy predict the end of the world and then consistently work together to ensure that these prophecies come true."
Hasan was in the military for years. If he was in fact a terrorist comparable to the 911 terrorists, sponsored by any radical islamic group as it has been implied. Then he was in fact also the most successful notable sleeper cell that has ever penetrated into our security infrastructure. And what was the BIG plan this unprecedented conspiring terrorist had? ...Get two pistols, ignore all weaponary he undoubtedly could have gained access to at some point , and go on a shooting spree. Sorry... no!
The disgust with it was genuine and the condemnation was absolute. Just because the words "unethical" or "immoral" weren't uttered doesn't mean it wasn't understood.
Methinks you are splitting hairs and arguing for the sake of arguing.
Your 'best comments' section basically consists of people who agree with you -rather than people who actually debate their point well, or ask a thought provoking question that stands contrary to your opinion.
Your videos used to be good, but they're turning into propaganda. Quite frankly, it's boring.
Semantics are a waste of time in regards to Hasan. The fact is he murdered in the name of the same religion that has been identified with the overwhelming majority of terrorist acts in the last 10 years. When are we going to stop being politically correct in this regard?

Religion isn't a matter of terrorism. It's politics.
He didn't want to go to war with people of his own religion, so he went postal. Conscientious Objector that went postal, actually.
BTW, in a stoning, with each throw of a stone, is a cry of Allah Ackbar.
You are very loosely applying a very damning term. Treason was so explicitly defined so that it couldn't be thrown around loosely. Now has come time for "terrorist."
People, please look up words and their definitions before you use them. Look up the word terrorist. Hasan was NOT a terrorist. The man is by all means a traitor and should be convicted for espionage. The man fired at uniformed soldiers, not civilians. The man should be tried for treason and spying and sentenced to death. Military tribunal. No civil court. The man was NOT a civilian terrorist. If evidence comes out he tried to contact al qaeda, than he is a spy. And should be treated as such.
terrible: "Terrorism" isn't a military crime. You're right. As the word terrorism refers to an organized armed force not necessarily defined or "recognized" as "belligerents". Now people have to look up the words belligerents and the meaning to it. But the man should be tried for espionage if he was indeed spying for al qeada or trying to contact them. Even if he was trying to contact al qaeda, him being an active military soldier warrants such a charge. Especially for him fire on his own men.
The recession started in December of 2007. The "blind supporters" can see that's more than a year before Obama was inaugurated. They all think Obama has to stop a snowball that someone else started. Wait! It was Clinton... that dirty son of a.... He made George Bush start 2 wars in the Middle East and of course good old George did a great job of not raising taxes to pay for it. He umm... just cut spending in the... no... he... well, he was a great president.
I won't deny that Bush and Clinton had a hand in the current mess, but remember that it was Obama who promised that the Unemployment Rate was not going to hit double-digits, and that he was going to "save or create" several million jobs.
Hasan is an Islamic Extremist.; I know this because: Major Hasan is a member of the Islamic faith and his behavior was rather extreme.
In answer to Chris Mathews question: Yes, it's a crime. We are at War with Al Queda, therefore a Major shouldn't be in contact with Al Queda unless it's for inteligence gathering or to arrange for surrender,.
Regarding the Black professor who beat up a White woman in a bar... Perhaps President Obama can get them together for a beer.
And yes Chris, perhaps the actual shooting was not illegal either since he was suffering from this pre traumatic stress disorder. Maybe we should prosecute the guy that sold him the guns.Wouldn't this logic fit in with every thing else that's going on?
I sure miss the old days when Hassan would have been falsely linked to Al Queda, which in turn would be falsely linked to Iran and then we would follow by invading Iran and, in turn, not doing anything to Al Queda. I feel your pain Lee.
I dont think the Fort Hood incident can be called terrorism, since terrorism is against non-combatants, not soldiers getting ready to deploy. Since our government says that we are at war, then his action is either treason or counter war activity. The term terrorism just doesnt fit.
Good point. Do you also think that it should be illegal for the US military to pay bribes to the Taliban for safe transport or for the CIA to fund Afghan opium production?
Regarding Hasan, why is the media is fixated on debating whether or not this is terrorism? It is becoming both a witchhunt of muslims in the military (don't forget that many in the armed services have been court ordered to be there) and an opportunity to reset the "terror free clock" set after 9/11. Shameless.
I would like to know how my comments got 4 thumbs down, and 5 thumbs down when 75% of the people on here have said basically the samething, and thus AGREE with me? Once again Chris Matthews= an IDIOT, and YES it was a "hate crime." That's all I have to say.
ok if you want to be a conservative, political version of phil difranco or what the buck thats fine. but jeeze this guy has no charisma, no humor, hes angry and frustrated and not in any sort of inspiring way; just annoyingly so. ill offer the benefit of the doubt and assume this vlog or whatever u call it needs time to work the kinks out, but i couldnt watch it through the whole four and a half minutes :/
The implied question here is "Why wasn't Hassan arrested after raising all those red flags, including contacting Al Qaida?" I would suggest that he was originally the-man-inside...a spy of sorts who was supposed to infiltrate the enemy. But it turns out he was a double agent. This makes sense exactly because of what you were saying (someone who contacts Al Qaida should be monitored, kicked out, etc)...yet he wasn't.
Well, I missed my chance to comment on the punishment for the professor. I dont know not having been there and not seeing all the facts what role race played in that, but I think its fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two that he Columbia gal acted stupidly in arguing with somebody when there was already proof that they were right.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Wow good refutation of what was actually stated, and nice racism too. The act wasnt done in allahs name or something, not done for his god. Terrorism yes, but not driven by Islamic ideology
Wow, talk about denial. The guy went around preaching about how it was his duty to kill infidels and shouted "allahu akbar" while he was shooting people. Yeah...nothing religious in nature there.
Exorania, don't go full Libtard. You're already libtarded but don't go FULL Libtard.
Allah Akbar (Allah is great) is a religious statement. You're being so open-minded your brain fell out. You should look around and reinsert your brain before commenting.
Its not like he shouted "Die infidels" or something like that ffs. If your dumb enough to be religious then one last act of saying your god is great barely means the act your commiting is for your god.

He was proseltyzing to returning vets. He stated "we love death more than you love life". He had nothing in his home but prayer mats and a paper shredder. His business card Had SoA (Soldier of Allah) and left off his military rank. And if you think praising your god while killing people isn't proof religion was a factor then you're pathetically naive.
Exmoronia. Er, it's not like he was always an unwanted by normal women authentic Muslim loon who said that unbelievers should B beheaded & have oil poured down their necks, & then followed this classic Islamic psychopathic criminal mindset with actions, like contacting Al Qaeda & meeting with WTC mass murdering Muslims & THEN murdering 14 troops & wounding 31...Oh he did? Gosh that has never happened before? Oh it has? ALL over the world 24/7? Carry on then comrade. thereligionofpeace com
It's obvious Fort Hood was the first Terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11. Not in the context such as VT. This was Jihad and anyone who thinks otherwise is disconnected. Jihad is killing in the name of Allah.
Punishment for Black Columbia Professor punching "white woman in faceover white provilege argument:Cruelest Punishment imaginable :100 hours--sensitivity training or made to watch ALL present and future Al gore documentaries;like Malcolm McDowall,in Clockwork Orange, having his eyelids kept open the whole time.
Well now I suppose Obama, NOW and Prof McIntyre will be sitting down for tea and crumpets since this all happened in a bar, and sitting down for a beer just won't be a very good idea. I'm sure Obama has more than enough "tea" to carry him to the end of his term ... and then some.
Well, it's not a hate crime because it was ideological violence.. He didn't punch her because she was white. He punched her in a quote-unquote "heated discussion" at a university. Regardless of what the "heated discussion" was pertaining to, it's still nothing more or less than a man bunching a woman in an argument about politics.
Now if you're under the assumption that ALL white people would've agreed with what she was saying then I can see how your mind jumps to "hate crime".
while I would mostly agree that the attack was due to argument and not race, if the races had been reversed then all hell would have broken loose and it absolutely would have been called a hate crime. That is the problem with the justice system, hate crimes, and our society's way of thinking.
Yeah, I know that a lot of conservatives on the internet seem to think that. My guess is that you all live it super-white bumfuck places like Iowa or something.
Hey! I was right! According to your website you live in Douglas, MA. Accprding to Wikipedia, "The racial makeup of the town was 97.36% White, 0.48% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.64% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 0.28% from other races, and 1.04% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.95% of the population."
Run along please..
I went to a high school that was about 70% black and 20% white and saw many interacial fights that weren't labeled hate crimes.
HTWW: There was an even better part of the Matthews interview, he said quote "I think we ought to have a system where a guy like this guy can raise his hand and say I don't want to go to Iraq or Afghanistan for a lot of good reasons, please don't send me"
Maybe if Matthews was in charge I wouldn't have gone to Iraq, oh wait I raised my hand and swore to protect this country so yes I would have still gone.
Actually we do have this system in place, its called Volunteer Military.
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
He shouldn't have raised his hand and swore this oath if he didn't want to go.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Oh man. Chris Matthews....
Mathews parrots the voices in his ear. he has made his deal with his bosses, so he can keep his job, drink his beverages and destroy this country. chrissy will have to face his judgement day along with the rest of us.
How is attacking soldiers on America's largest military base an act of "terrorism? What Hasan did was evil and wrong, but how was it "terrorism?"
Also, you should be more circumspect about what is really a fact (e.g. what Hasan shouted) b/c there's lots of misinfo now. Remember, Hasan was reported dead for quite awhile.
Finally, Hasan's contact w/the Imam was reportedly justified as research for a master's thesis which would not be illegal. Or can you cite a statute? exactly.
islamic terrorist? i think nobody tried to cover up the fact the guy was a muslim extremist and acted as a terrorist because of his radical beliefs - this is something that doesn't even need to be mentioned.
i wonder why you use the phrase "islamic terrorist" when it is pretty obvious that this guy had nothing to do with mainstream islam, but with its extremist fringes (nobody is calling scott roeder a christian terrorist).
If he were discussing with Al Qaida, trying to infiltrate, retrieve their tactics, make them less radical, find out their motives, even just distracting them, I'd encourage that, monitored of course.
However, it sounds like he's conspiring with them. He's our enemy, I think interrogation is very necessary. It's always good to know their side of the story.
MSNBC , CNBC and the Obama administration feel that american teaparty protestors are "Extremists" and should be put on watch lists but that muslim men who conferr with Alqiada and yell allah Akbar for comitting mass murder are just misunderstood.
So if Mike Wallace does an interview with an Al Qaeda member, he's committing a crime?
Also, I have no problem calling this guy an Islamic terrorist, but if going crazy and killing in a religion fueled rage is religious terrorism, than the US has been hit by far more attacks from Christian terrorists than Islamic ones.
Its not really "religious" terrorism on either side. Christianity or Islam. People, whether its a whole government/organization or just some lunatic, hijack a religion and twist and distort its meanings to justify their own sick agendas. I am a Christian myself, but I have friends who practice Islam, and none of them seem to want to kill me. Nor I them.
@foolsonparade If you or them read their holy books and took them literally you would be killing each other. For some reason though you have to take homosexuality as a sin literally but not the other stuff.
Please site me an example of where literal interpretation of the Bible, would tell me to kill anyone. And on the homosexuality issue, yes the Bible speaks against it, to put it lightly. I however don't really care what they do. I don't agree with homosexuality on scientific levels.
For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death. - Exodus 31:15
"'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. - Leviticus 20:13
kevinhetherington speaks the truth. by bible standards the same fate is destined for gays as it is for sunday workers and that fate is death.
"But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ." 2nd Corinthians 3:16
"Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." Romans 10:4
When Jesus came into the world to die for our sins, the law of the Old Testament was abolished. The laws were strict, to show that no one could get to heaven under the law, but only under the grace of Christ.
lol so your telling me that jesus came to earth to abolish the laws set by his father god himself and to make new ones? then explain this quote from jesus in the new testament.
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. - Matthew 5:17-18
Maybe abolished was the wrong word. When Jesus said that he did not come to abolish the laws but to fulfill them, he meant that he would basically take our place under the chopping block. When the laws of the Old Testament were written, it was proven time and time again, that no one could live up to them. So rather than all of us go to hell, Jesus died in our place. You don't die or go to hell for being a homosexual, you go to hell for not getting salvation.
ok so now your telling me that since we as humans are unable to avoid sin that belief in jesus is the only path to heaven. and all of our sins such as homosexuality, working on sundays, robbery, molestation, and murder are cleansed from us as long as we attain salvation in jesus christ. this is no different than abolishing the old testament. if u can break the rules set by god and still gain a path to heaven through jesus christ then why have the rules in the first place.
When Jesus died for us, he died in our place as if he committed all of those sins. When you pray earnestly for Jesus to save you, It's like paying him back for what he did for you. Once you are saved you cant loose it. Your works however, meaning trying not to break the rules of the Old Testament, as well as spreading the word of God, affect your rewards in heaven and in day to day life.
i cannot believe that people of any amount of sin can go to a heaven by simply praying to jesus. then live by rules of the old testament such as death to homosexuals and anyone working on a sunday.
You seem to have homosexuality on the brain. And thats quite alright. But the working on the sabbath thing is getting old.
Luke 14:5 "Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the Sabbath day?"
Its your choice to believe whatever you want. You engaged me in discussion and I've stated what I believe. Faith and scriptural interpretation isn't something that can be argued. It varies from person to person.
homosexuality is not my sole reason for not believing the bible. there r many laws in the bible that r obviously wrong such as those on nonbelievers Deuteronomy 13:6-9, womens rights 1 tim 2, and slavery leviticus 25:44 and titus 2:9. all these passages are terrible and contradict the earliest of laws by god the 10 commandments. particularly "thou shalt not kill". an all-knowing perfect god would not believe this and would not teach against his own 10 commandments. this is a common fault of men.
only men would make the mistake of contradicting laws. which is not hard to believe since it was men such as moses, joshua and others who wrote the bible anyway.
but i can tell that you are ready to end this disscusion. and thats quite alright. ive spoken my beliefs. ive enjoyed debating with you dear foolsonparade
I know this post is 4 days old, but I can't help myself.
Just because you read the Bible, doesn't mean that you have read it.
John 8:4 "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them,
"If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"
"No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."
A straw man argument is when you argue against a position that your opponent does not really hold. HTTW believes that a person who murders infidels in the name of Islam is an Islamic terrorist, does he not?
He took issue with Chris Matthews question about whether it is a crime to "contact" Al Qaeda. If he thinks that Chris Matthews means something so specific that it would not include contacting them to asking for an interview, then HTWW is straw manning Chris Matthews, because he clearly meant "contacting Al Qaeda" in a very general sense.
Well, to be blunt, if you're contacting Al Qaeda for any reasons other than journalistic or non-intelligence related manners, you're probably doing something pretty shady. "Contacting" is a broad therm, but it should be obvious that Chris Matthews didn't mean sending them a birthday card.
Mike Wallace can talk to anyone he wants to. However, if your a member of the US military you dont have that option. Article 104 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice prohibits contact with the enemy unless you are under orders to do so.
yay marxists are great so far i learned china has far less poverty than the USA even though $85 a year is considered above the china poverty line and the only greedy people are in business..government has no greed and they are not power hungry...LOL
The ultimate test of whether or not something was a hate crime or not is to switch the races of the parties involved...
Guess what would happen if a white professor had hit a black woman because not enough people were opposing affirmative action or something...
The left would be going CRAZY doing all kinds of stuff like digging up the professor's background and criminal record, (like they're NOT doing for the Fort Hood shooter) But since he was black, it couldn't POSSIBLY be a hate crime
All violent crime is a "hate crime", so I do not support labeling actions by one individual upon another as such. The incident happened off campus so who knows what actions the university will take. That being said; it seems like a clear case of assult with plenty of witnesses to back up the victim's account. In terms of PR the university will do its best to not address the issue, while the complicit press and liberal activist groups shall aid their intentions by reamaining silent.
Yeah, jail for the dude that punched the woman. You attack someone physically you go straight to jail. No debate. Pay your bail (or not) and get a lawyer.
I don't care if it was a woman, a child, or another dude. You never initiate force.
lets get real there's a difference between equalllity and special treatment. and the silent consent of anti-white sentiment is as much of a hate crime as any non-existent oppression any minority claims they are subject to. nobody stands up for underprivalidged whites because they're too busy being anglo apologist.
Hmmm, did we create them. Oh yea, along with the dictator shaw in Iran, the bush buddy Bin Laden, The taliban, and our total support of Suddam Hussain in the 90's.
Anyone correlate the 20+ year plan? Instill/promote bad guys, wage war on them decades later, hijacking their resources, country infrastructure, etc.
This has been stated by many agencies, FBI, CIA, that this does not follow the patterns of a terrorist act. If he was truly "working for Al Qaeda" then he wouldn't have been open about his Islamic views. The Al Qaeda code states not to be open and to conceal things like that. There's no way this is a terrorist act directly connected to Al Qaeda. It's a ridiculous connection. This was mass murder done by a man with many problems, who happened to have conservative Islamic views.
Not necessarily. I think his opinions are probably very misunderstood. They actually say his contact with that islamic cleric overseas was more for psychological purposes than to "kill Americans overseas". The FBI even says this and were able to read the whole conversation. The fact that he is a conservative Islamic man who killed people does not make it LINKED to the terrorists. This man had many, many problems and happened to also have conservative Islamic views and be against the war.
This man is a mass murderer and is undoubtably very, very screwed up in the head. But the link to Al Qaeda is not true. HTWW, you are wrong about him contacting Al Qaeda, please correct yourself. You claim that it was an Al Qaeda member he was in contact with. You're "deliberately distorting the facts".
I guarantee that through his interrogations and through deeper investigations they will not conclude any link to Al Qaeda, or to any legitimate terrorist group. Just watch and see.
The teacher shouldn't be punished but has to read a speech to the entire campus about Minority Privilege stating, among other things, "if you cry racism enough and victimize yourself based on supposed racial bias, you too can punch a white bitch in the face and get away with it". That alone will make him unhireable after no one signs up for this classes.
He's not a terrorist. Do some reading on it. He wasn't in contact with Al Qaeda either, he was talking to a radical islamist cleric overseas, not an actual member of Al Qaeda. This was an isolated incident which was caused by many different factors. I think if you look at it from a psychological standpoint, rather than a partisan, political standpoint with an agenda to criticize Muslims, you would see that it was an isolated incident. A hate-crime caused by a muslim does not make it terrorism.
It also wasn't even a "hate-crime" like many say. Even if it was, that doesn't make it terrorism. It was a killing spree, or mass murder. A lonely man with many problems of his own who is an anti-war psychologist working in an American base, hearing soldier's trauma, having to see them go overseas. After a while, that takes a toll
People with little-to-no interpersonal intellect will see this as terrorism because they don't attempt to look at the internal reasons why people do things like this.
so a US millitary base in Texas is a war zone? By implying this would that also mean Hassan would be a JiHadist? Civilians were not shot/shot at? A lot on those injured did not have any military rank with their names.
LV here is the terrorism definition from the F.B.I.: " The unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a Government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives." Hasan went out of his way to tell everyone what his gripe with the federal government was before he used violence to intimidate or coerce the government and or civilian population. How is it not terrorism.
Agree. This Left Wing-ish, Political Correctness crap has been going on too long. Reverse discrimination all over the place...thanks to ACLU & Liberals, & Hollywood types. Now it's actually KILLED people.

Professor should be canned/fired for punching that woman in the face! I think that boy needs an attitude adjustment as in fired from columbia U. charged with hate crime and when he's sent to jail treated like a biatch.
chillichomper 1 year ago
Whoah, I think you need to watch your logical leaps. The stimulus' influence was exaggerated, I can see that (especially given the difficulty in predicting numbers of jobs created, lost, saved, etc. based on specific policies). But I think it's problematic that you used this to quickly switch to saying that this "proves" your idea that somehow everything about it is false.
Grn0a 2 years ago
If a statement like "create or saved jobs" is made and cannot be backed up with concrete figures then is it a lie or the truth? If it cannot be proven then it cannot be used to make decisions so by that logic it is bullshit. Most politicians and administrations make bullshit statements but this administration has taken it to a whole new level of absurdity!
chillichomper 1 year ago
The difficulty in quantifying the number of jobs lost or gained by certain political actions is the problem here. However, the majority of economists (even some with a conservative bend) have admitted that the bill created some jobs which would otherwise be lost or not created.
Grn0a 1 year ago
The jobless figures are also b.s. because what happens when you drop off the radar and you nolonger collect unemployment insurance? The gov stops counting you in its unemployment figures. So the published 10% unemployment is probably closer to %16 or %17 now. Most economists don't live in the world of reality and wall street is mainly driven by perception and not fact! Unless a statement can substantiated via empirical measurement it's a lie/bullshit. Touchy feely proofs don't count.
chillichomper 1 year ago
Wow, you succinctly show why it is you are full of crap. In one sentence, you claim that "most economists don't live in the world of reality" as a means to completely discredit the opinions of those experts who disagree with you under the assumption that they don't use empirical measures; the next, you use a projection of the real unemployment rate which is compiled by the same economists you discredit as if it is separate! Go learn about economics before you spout out this sort of crap.
Grn0a 1 year ago
Thats like saying go learn philosophy before you opine. Science is black and white, Engineering is black and white. Economics is B.S. Psychology(on a massive scale, communications, national security, and CYA). My experience based upon service on wall street Credit Suisse(as an IT person) and at the U.N.. If you think you're more qualified based on your vast experience then present your case. Don't just yell fire to distract ppl from the facts you clearly don't understand.
chillichomper 1 year ago
Actually, it's like saying that your opinions about economics are B.S. because you see all experts in that field as unreliable yet take their economic projections when it suits your ideological needs.
You don't seem to understand that just because economics isn't black and white doesn't mean it's nonsense, and that the average economist knows quite a bit more than some IT punk who just wants to justify a belief which is not founded upon evidence.
Grn0a 1 year ago
@Grn0a R u some sort of closet economist that takes personal umbrage to my opinions on their efficacy? What "evidence" do you present that supports the performance of economists? I know collegues that have worked their way up through the financial industry without benefit of an economics degree that have a MUCH better record of predicting economic turns and weathering those storms than your precious economists.
chillichomper 1 year ago
I have a problem with people who sidestep facts and analysis which strongly clashes with their political and/or economic views by dismissing the opinions of experts whenever they disagree with you (but then using them whenever they do coincide with your views).
Can you explain why it is that you disbelieve economists yet will accept their projections of real unemployment?
Grn0a 1 year ago

Grn0a 1 year ago
@Grn0a Hmm, noything more then more insults, thought so. FAIL.
GlennRoxWyo 1 year ago
When someone comes on here to debate economics but makes a comment that indicates that they know absolutely nothing about economics, it doesn't merit anything more than an insult. The multiplier effect is a basic and well-understood macroeconomic theory, yet you dismiss it out of hand.
Since you gave no evidence to support your claim that radically clashes with a most basic study of economics, there's no point in treating that as a serious argument.
Grn0a 1 year ago
@Grn0a "most basic study of economics"? You mean the study of progressivism & liberalism in wich morons like you presume to tell others they must give what they make because others refuse to work. You also presume to tell me this is the only true economics. Sorry no points this round.
GlennRoxWyo 1 year ago
You desperately need to go get an education about topics before you rant about them. Assaulting economics as being inherently liberal or progressive is frankly infantile and ignorant. Concepts like the multiplier effect that so frightens you are agreed upon bases for economic study--although different views exist on their economic effects, they are agreed upon realities.
I notice you still haven't done a thing but go on conspiratorial rants to back up your claim--I'm still waiting on that.
Grn0a 1 year ago
@Grn0a Liberalism does not economics make as you seem to believe. Try a little truth.

Sorry... no!

Now has come time for "terrorist."
nosferotica1 2 years ago
He should be punished. Not better be punished. I don't know what happened but if someone punches someone else they should be punished.
hdl13 2 years ago
People, please look up words and their definitions before you use them. Look up the word terrorist. Hasan was NOT a terrorist. The man is by all means a traitor and should be convicted for espionage. The man fired at uniformed soldiers, not civilians. The man should be tried for treason and spying and sentenced to death. Military tribunal. No civil court. The man was NOT a civilian terrorist. If evidence comes out he tried to contact al qaeda, than he is a spy. And should be treated as such.
Orion1232 2 years ago
It is my understanding of military law, that terrorism is not listed as a crime. Because of this, they are charging him with first-degree murder.
If anybody can name a military law that says different, post a tinyurl link to prove me wrong. Don't just say I'm wrong, prove it.
terribletrench 2 years ago
terrible: "Terrorism" isn't a military crime.

Its not really "religious" terrorism on either side. Christianity or Islam. People, whether its a whole government/organization or just some lunatic, hijack a religion and twist and distort its meanings to justify their own sick agendas. "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." Romans 10:4
When Jesus came into the world to die for our sins, the law of the Old Testament was abolished. The laws were strict, to show that no one could get to heaven under the law, but only under the grace of Christ.
foolsonparade 2 years ago
lol so your telling me that jesus came to earth to abolish the laws set by his father god himself and to make new ones? then explain this quote from jesus in the new testament.
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. - Matthew 5:17-18
guy2440 2 years ago
Maybe abolished was the wrong word. When Jesus said that he did not come to abolish the laws but to fulfill them, he meant that he would basically take our place under the chopping block. When the laws of the Old Testament were written, it was proven time and time again, that no one could live up to them. So rather than all of us go to hell, Jesus died in our place. You don't die or go to hell for being a homosexual, you go to hell for not getting salvation.

ok so now your telling me that since we as humans are unable to avoid sin that belief in jesus is the only path to heaven. and all of our sins such as homosexuality, working on sundays, robbery, molestation, and murder are cleansed from us as long as we attain salvation in jesus christ. this is no different than abolishing the old testament. if u can break the rules set by god and still gain a path to heaven through jesus christ then why have the rules in the first place.
guy2440 2 years ago
When Jesus died for us, he died in our place as if he committed all of those sins. When you pray earnestly for Jesus to save you, It's like paying him back for what he did for you. Once you are saved you cant loose it. Your works however, meaning trying not to break the rules of the Old Testament, as well as spreading the word of God, affect your rewards in heaven and in day to day life.

i cannot believe that people of any amount of sin can go to a heaven by simply praying to jesus. then live by rules of the old testament such as death to homosexuals and anyone working on a sunday.
guy2440 2 years ago
You seem to have homosexuality on the brain. And thats quite alright. But the working on the sabbath thing is getting old.
Luke 14:5 "Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the Sabbath day?"
Its your choice to believe whatever you want. You engaged me in discussion and I've stated what I believe. Faith and scriptural interpretation isn't something that can be argued. It varies from person to person.

homosexuality is not my sole reason for not believing the bible. there r many laws in the bible that r obviously wrong such as those on nonbelievers Deuteronomy 13:6-9, womens rights 1 tim 2, and slavery leviticus 25:44 and titus 2:9. all these passages are terrible and contradict the earliest of laws by god the 10 commandments. particularly "thou shalt not kill". an all-knowing perfect god would not believe this and would not teach against his own 10 commandments. this is a common fault of men.
guy2440 2 years ago
only men would make the mistake of contradicting laws. which is not hard to believe since it was men such as moses, joshua and others who wrote the bible anyway.
but i can tell that you are ready to end this disscusion. and thats quite alright. ive spoken my beliefs. ive enjoyed debating with you dear foolsonparade

When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them,
bogusinfo 2 years ago
"If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"
"No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."
Anyone can be saved!

The same goes for Christianity.

@frayzerm Wow, Are you joking? This is the kind of thinking that scares me. Can you give some examples of Christian terror attacks on the U.S.?

those Presbyterians are really scary. What about those born again Christians? I mean what happened the first time?

Eric Rudolph bombed the Atlanta Olympics July 27, 1996. He was a Christian who attacked what he saw as a symbol of "the homosexual agenda".
Paul Jennings Hill was a Christian convert who shot Dr John Britton and said he expected "a great reward in heaven".
James Charles Kopp, a convert to catholicism, murdered Dr. Barnett Slepian on October 23, 1998.
Scott Roeder, whose family members noted that he had become fanatically religious, killed Dr. George Tiller on May 31st, 2009.
Shall I go on?

frayzem is the master of straw man arguments and voluntary rejection of reality.
elsquibbs 2 years ago
A straw man argument is when you argue against a position that your opponent does not really hold. HTTW believes that a person who murders infidels in the name of Islam is an Islamic terrorist, does he not?
frayzerm 2 years ago
Exactly. You asked the question "So if Mike Wallace does an interview with an Al Qaeda member, he's committing a crime?"
Neither HTWW nor anyone else made that argument.
elsquibbs 2 years ago
He took issue with Chris Matthews question about whether it is a crime to "contact" Al Qaeda. If he thinks that Chris Matthews means something so specific that it would not include contacting them to asking for an interview, then HTWW is straw manning Chris Matthews, because he clearly meant "contacting Al Qaeda" in a very general sense.
frayzerm 2 years ago
Well, to be blunt, if you're contacting Al Qaeda for any reasons other than journalistic or non-intelligence related manners, you're probably doing something pretty shady. "Contacting" is a broad therm, but it should be obvious that Chris Matthews didn't mean sending them a birthday card.
smiledammit24 2 years ago
Mike Wallace can talk to anyone he wants to. However, if your a member of the US military you dont have that option. Article 104 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice prohibits contact with the enemy unless you are under orders to do so.

TheEllipsis731 2 years ago

You never initiate force.
redmolotail 2 years ago
lets get real there's a difference between equalllity and special treatment. and the silent consent of anti-white sentiment is as much of a hate crime as any non-existent oppression any minority claims they are subject to. nobody stands up for underprivalidged whites because they're too busy being anglo apologist.

Contacting AlKeida?
Hmmm, did we create them. Oh yea, along with the dictator shaw in Iran, the bush buddy Bin Laden, The taliban, and our total support of Suddam Hussain in the 90's.
Anyone correlate the 20+ year plan? Instill/promote bad guys, wage war on them decades later, hijacking their resources, country infrastructure, etc.
luckyvet 2 years ago
Hmmm, black man vs white woman? Both thrive on victimhood. Thats a tough one.
Hate crimes shouldn't exist. Another nail in the coffin for our freedoms.

This was mass murder done by a man with many problems, who happened to have conservative Islamic views.
empirical22 2 years ago
of course he wasn't working for Al Qaeda, but he was sympathetic towards their cause.
Pvic 2 years ago
Not necessarily. I think his opinions are probably very misunderstood. They actually say his contact with that islamic cleric overseas was more for psychological purposes than to "kill Americans overseas". The FBI even says this and were able to read the whole conversation. The fact that he is a conservative Islamic man who killed people does not make it LINKED to the terrorists. This man had many, many problems and happened to also have conservative Islamic views and be against the war.
empirical22 2 years ago

That alone will make him unhireable after no one signs up for this classes.
fitedeltachi 2 years ago
He's not a terrorist. Do some reading on it. He wasn't in contact with Al Qaeda either, he was talking to a radical islamist cleric overseas, not an actual member of Al Qaeda. This was an isolated incident which was caused by many different factors. I think if you look at it from a psychological standpoint, rather than a partisan, political standpoint with an agenda to criticize Muslims, you would see that it was an isolated incident. A hate-crime caused by a muslim does not make it terrorism.
empirical22 2 years ago
It also wasn't even a "hate-crime" like many say. Even if it was, that doesn't make it terrorism. It was a killing spree, or mass murder. A lonely man with many problems of his own who is an anti-war psychologist working in an American base, hearing soldier's trauma, having to see them go overseas. After a while, that takes a toll
People with little-to-no interpersonal intellect will see this as terrorism because they don't attempt to look at the internal reasons why people do things like this.
empirical22 2 years ago
it IS a crime and there is a name for it... TREASON.

so a US millitary base in Texas is a war zone? By implying this would that also mean Hassan would be a JiHadist? Civilians were not shot/shot at? A lot on those injured did not have any military rank with their names.

LV here is the terrorism definition from the F.B.I.: " The unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a Government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives." Hasan went out of his way to tell everyone what his gripe with the federal government was before he used violence to intimidate or coerce the government and or civilian population. How is it not terrorism.
