  • i'd hang with Diane Sawyer anytime. she's a groove.

  • A family friend is Syrian and he does the cooking in the house. It really is healthy, light and typical Mediteranian with a Arabic twist. Food is a doorway to cultural appreciation.

  • i think pork is nasty and it shouldn't be something for people to show of about. Islam isn't the only religion which prohibits pork but also in Christianity. Christians aren't even aloud to drink alcohol. pork is disgusting and should not be mixed with normal food. who ever wants pork should go to the farm, kill one, and eat it :)

  • @nasreen51 stop talking out off your ass you dumb fuck and dnt talk inplace of christians because we are allowed to drink alcohol and eat pork , we are not kaffirs like you guys !

  • @aaroxxx LOOOOOOOOOOL, please mate i live in a christian country. i know what the bible teaches. oww by the way christian women should cover their hair and if not cover they must shave their hair off. and don't make me post verses from the bible.

  • My grandfather was born in syria

We are syrian jewish. Our family also make with pomegranate sauce added to lamb

  • Poor woman, she never seen a decent food in her life...

  • @Lumixster Its ignorant people like you that make me wanna throw up. Why come onto a page and talk shxt about other cultures? What are you accomplishing? I just dont get it.

  • @hazeyyemm LOL U make me laff, I am Turkish, we eat same food, my comment was about her, not about the food..That food is out of this world, so yummy, she looks like which she is never tasted anything like that in her life...thats what I was saying , plz calm down :)

  • @Lumixster Sorry if i blew up at you. But im so sick of seeing people hate on my culture out of their ignorance. I guess it didnt translate that well into english. Oooops.

  • @hazeyyemm Dont be sorry, I like that u embrace and want to protect your culture n food from small minded ppl. Thats awesome :)

  • haha Lailaz restaurant, I've been there :)

  • My Syrian grandmother lives downstairs from me and she makes the best food. Kidbe, meshi, jedere, lejme ma fudum, yebra, lejmajin, muhamerah, hummous, the pickles, the desserts like shybeeyet. I am so blessed. I am so sorry for anyone who has never tried Syrian food.

  • That female reporter wouldn't let that man get much input in on their food. She just blabbed on. That was as annoying as the food looked great !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @LeHiGuy1 exactly.

  • Arabic food is one of the best or even best in the world

  • pork and alcohol are served by all restaurants in syria

p.s beer and the alcoholic drink "Arak" are produced by a nationalised company

  • @capontap not true , i went to syria and it's rarely you can find pork in syria

    only few christian resto

  • and u wanna talk about recipes walak we have a city as everyone knows it Aleppo " walak this city has more recipes in it than the history of lebanon and the number of people that enteret lebanon since its existince, u know i think that serioussly we should close our borders with that little country we dont need them anyways let them than brag about it all they want lets see who's gonna give them support after that. let ur civilized life help u which was demonstrated well with ur 2civil wars!

  • I agree with you zkorte 100%. Unless you've been to Aleppo and ate their, you haven't tasted real food yet. Also, you're right, about the borders. But unlike some ungreatful Leabanese wannabe Frenchmen, we Syrians have a good, clean heart. If we shut our borders with Lebanon, they would starve to death, considering that all the produce, meat etc., etc., enters Leb through Syria and that their is no alternate route. And how about all the Lebs that come to Syria to shop because Leb is inflat.

  • syria 4 life =D syrian too :)

  • @REDMAN4701 with all due respect, Lebanon has many ports, they can import food from anywhere in the world:) They might buy cheap food from you guys, it does not mean they can't live without you, it just means they have money to spend, and a choice where to spend it. So be a nice salesman and give good customer service.

  • hey uuum to all the lebanise people that claim to be phonicians u wanna brag about not bieng arabic... here are some of the none arab languages spoken in Syria till this day by the way:

Aramic, Syrianic, Assyrian "ashoury" and those are original now others also: Turkish, kurdish, Chechen "shishany" Daghistany, cherkez "sharkasy", Armenian, Turkmany, and those are the ones i can remember and we all proud to belong to the Syiran Arab Republic

  • @zkorte I'm Armenian I was born in Armenia and my mom was born in Syria Damascus, she makes the best food, love arabic food :)

  • syrian food is the best

  • Lebanese always say that their food is the best in the middle east but truth be told, it reminds me very much of the food we have here in Israel.

Contrary to that, Syrian food looks quite differently. I have a funny feeling that it is the Syrians that have the best cuisine in the middle east... the food served on this video is insane! :)

  • Know i feel HUNGRY at 4:30AM in CA, USA

  • syrian food is a healthy food

  • men am hungry why u guys do this to me i love love this food helpppppppppppppppp for god sake.........lol

  • the spinach pie is of phyllo dough thin and vey buttery and flaky thats whyy syrian food is sooooooooo goood

  • @youxoxtube im from aleppo but lived in the states most of my life. syria is a great example of a country that co exists. best food in the world is in aleppo syria.

  • I'm hungry, watching this in ramadan is torture T.T

  • did u know once upon a time syria and lebanon were one :O then they made a border but the PEOPLE stayed the same. so we are basically the same. so stop thinking otherwise

  • @lmfao9400

they were never ever the same ,its what your dictatorship terrorist regime put in your head ..

  • They serve PIG in Syria?

  • yes we do

  • I thought you can't eat pork? Isn't that against Islam?

  • exactly it`s not allowed for Mouslem

but we have other than Islam as well

and for your kind information we are not an Islamc country

    so we do serve everything

I hope you visit Syria one day specially Damascus

    I am Ghiyath From Damascus.

    Have a nice day

  • what kind of information you give? syria is islamic country unless u r ignorant

  • only chrisitians eat it

  • Pork is against Islam, but there are non-muslims in Syria. It depends on the restaurant. If the owner is a conservative muslim then you most probably won't find pork or alchahol on the menu, and vice versa.

  • no way

  • syria is a muslim nation.. its ruled under the laws of islam.. but it doesnt mean that there is no place for Christianity in it.. its one of the sacred places to Christianity after all.

pork is served in syria, but muslims aren't allowed to have it, there are Christians who do eat that. not just in syria.. in most of the arab world aswell.

  • Moory7269

That's 100% right. Syria is a Muslim country after all.

  • i love shakriyeh

  • No doubt !

    Of-course it is syrian food.

my friend's mother did a good kebbeh for us. she is from syria - aleppo.

i ate kebbeh many times from syrian hands, I wish if there were Shakrieh on the table. It's my favo syrian foooood.

  • wow the food looks so good

  • lol u lebanese r so funny i swear..also if u hate syria y do u watch syrian stuff on youtube? u do realise that u guys r the ones obsessed with syria and not the opposite!!!! losers! woof!

  • i feel sorry for u lebanese ppl..ur hearts r filled with so much hatred which actually makes u seem so uneducated and pathetic..by the way i have many lebnese friends who dont call themselves phonecians and just in case u hadnt realised, time has moved on and u guys r not phonecian..phonecians did not originate from lebanon however their empire did flourish in lebanon..u huys r so damn funny.the phonecians spread to lattakia in syria however u dont get lattakian ppl calling themselves phonecians

  • Why are lebanese people so angry?

Syria withdrawed from your shitcountry and you got owned military by Israel the next day.

That is call in the dictonary of the internet as

    ..

    FAIL!

    Why u guys still hating?

  • lady: anything pink, i believe in pink

guy: ooh kay, you're still paying for this

I love hearing the athan in the background. aww syria how i miss thee

  • Dear Mr. Lebanese I think this house which is in this video is more than 300 years old at least and they used to do these food in it, BUT your great Lebanon was established on 1947.Just for your information. But however I believe that you know how to use the media more than the Syrian, because we were ruled by a socialist ruler and recently the country was opened to the world.

  • The Lebanese are the worst people on earth(ground) I assure you that their true image is worse than everybody believes it they respect persons

  • I m sorry I can't go down to ur level but for historical information Phoenicians the first human civilization if u have any idea about them were located between south turkey and palstine and the first alphabetical order board was found in Lattakia (Ugarit) and one more thing the majority of Lebanese are Islam she3a and by the way we are proud to be Arabs .

Please dont reply to me Mr. lebnene

  • what level ...does the truth hurts?????? your historical information are ALL wrong...........the Phoenician empire existed originally from north of Lebanon to the south of Lebanon ,the great Phoenician cites are Byblos, Beirut , and tyre....... all of theses cities are in Lebanon............later on their empire spread to tunisia and all the mediterranean............the Phoenicians came from Lebanon ...............get your facts right.

  • The Lebanese is jealous because we are opened in used

  • Addicted to the Syrian food :D

  • raymolly1980 - you are retarded.

I've seen many Syrian restaurants - and it is not all Lebanese food. The food from the Levant area are very similar but each region has their own unique way of cooking the food. The taste is not the same. Even in Syria, I can go to 10 different restaurants on the same streets and have 10 different kinds of tabouli.

  • there is no different types of tabouli .there is one REAL tabouli ,its the LEBANESE tabouli ,and its originated from the towns which situated on the mountains of Lebanon ,then later it was well known in all over Lebanon.pizza is well known all over the world ,but still every one knows the real one is the Italian one..and tabouli now is famous all over the world and Ive seen tabouli in different recepies (some add garlic or white cheese)

but the real original recipe is the Lebanese one.

  • i hate that we argue whether food is from syria turkey lebanon or mars. who gives? just eat.

  • hahahahah come on you r a shame for us lebanese!!! A REAL SHAME!

There r so much worse things in world and u talk the shit out of your head about taboule!!!!

  • No my friend its all Syrian :)

  • phoenician, let me tell you , the phoenicians were arabs also, so stop putting down the arabs man. The arabs had great science and math heritage.

  • if lebenase are not from the dessert then speak greeek then

  • FUCK OF!!

The food comes before ISLAM DickHE*'D*'*'

  • ohhh how i love ANY arabic food...im hungry!! =)

  • syrian food is the best!syrian the best in the world <3<3

  • yeah i love syrian foods!

  • The best food in the world is food from former Muslim Empires.

Syrians, Lebanese, Turks, Kurds, Jordanians, Persians, Gulf Arabs, North Africans, all share similar food.

  • pfff yeah rightt arabic and lebanese food have nothing in common. lebanese food is mediterranean, like greek etc.. not from the dessert

  • 1.80% of Lebanese food is from the Ottoman empire.

    2.You're not Phoenician.

    3. lol

  • riiiiiiiiiiight.......

  • you're jealous you muslim arab... we´re so above you:D lol

  • er fik w bi phenicia... phoenicians were thiefs....

  • Lol what do Lebanese people eat bala zi3'ra??? 7omos and mi7shee and all the foods Lebanese people eat is all Syrian, and definitely Arab. Lebanese are Arabs because : They speak Arabic, Lebanon is in the Middle East, and they have Arab traditions. Lebanon was Phoenician like a billion years ago when there was such a thing as Mesopotamia. Your like some kid from the playground who wants to be friends with all the bullies, knowing deep down that you belong with the kids who are getting bullied.

  • im telling you people the best food in the world is syrisn food .

  • oh man thx for video that's amazing ppl from all the world should see Damascus. especially syrian food. thx for person who put it that's really cool

  • I used to go to this resturant with my friends, wonderful memories, I love my country SYRIA.!!!

    Thank you or sharing

  • 1- there are tons of recipes out there we (Syrians) don't encounter that much anymore. think about it: about a hundred types of Kebbeh and more than a hundred different me7chis.

2- I don't know if I'm alone when I say this but the show is so condescendent it's hilarious. I mean you can see it, between the lines, in the appearances even.

  • Ever heard of guantanamo bay?

Ever heard of the hundreds of lebanese and palestinans jailed in israel?

  • It will be fare to say that the Syrian, Lebanese, Turkish, ...they all share the same cuisine since borders did not exist 100 years or less ago. But every country use there own name, spices, and .... . Nonetheless, all taste great (better than hamburgers for sure).

    cheers

  • thats true

  • Syrian cuisine derive from the Emperial cuisine of the Ottoman Empire , Americans are happy with a Hamburger & coke they don't know that we ate Kofte/Kiftah before the city of Hamburg was grounded , what a sad cuisine they have , ha ha ha ha

  • Sami, you ROCK Bro.

  • mashallah...looks nice..and even though I think 80% of the dishes are shared by other countries in A-Sham...it's refreshing to see someone call this food something other then LEBANESE!
