i think pork is nasty and it shouldn't be something for people to show of about. Islam isn't the only religion which prohibits pork but also in Christianity. I agree with you zkorte 100%. Unless you've been to Aleppo and ate their, you haven't tasted real food yet. Also, you're right, about the borders. But unlike some ungreatful Leabanese wannabe Frenchmen, we Syrians have a good, clean heart. If we shut our borders with Lebanon, they would starve to death, considering that all the produce, meat etc., etc., enters Leb through Syria and that their is no alternate route. And how about all the Lebs that come to Syria to shop because Leb is inflat.
@REDMAN4701 with all due respect, Lebanon has many ports, they can import food from anywhere in the world:) They might buy cheap food from you guys, it does not mean they can't live without you, it just means they have money to spend, and a choice where to spend it. So be a nice salesman and give good customer service.
hey uuum to all the lebanise people that claim to be phonicians u wanna brag about not bieng arabic... here are some of the none arab languages spoken in Syria till this day by the way:

Lebanese always say that their food is the best in the middle east but truth be told, it reminds me very much of the food we have here in Israel.
Contrary to that, Syrian food looks quite differently. I have a funny feeling that it is the Syrians that have the best cuisine in the middle east... the food served on this video is insane! :)

Pork is against Islam, but there are non-muslims in Syria. It depends on the restaurant. If the owner is a conservative muslim then you most probably won't find pork or alchahol on the menu, and vice versa.
syria is a muslim nation.. its ruled under the laws of islam.. but it doesnt mean that there is no place for Christianity in it.. its one of the sacred places to Christianity after all.
pork is served in syria, but muslims aren't allowed to have it, there are Christians who do eat that. not just in syria.. in most of the arab world aswell.
