They never should have raced him with that Quarter Crack...shame shame. I hate that his trainer is pointing he finger at his jockey for not winning. He probably thought something was wrong with him so he held him back
just watched your third horse race? horribly mis-rode in the Belmont. get a clue. go wait for next year's Triple Crown, then comment about "quarter cracks" again, ding-dong.
@Chronology07 I hate his trainer period.Big Brown's trainer raced another horse twice in 24 hours, and that horse was so tired it broke its pelvis in the 2nd race and had to be put to sleep...That's not "good horsemanship" to me,that and all the drug positives the trainers had
My Triple Crown Explanation: He didn't have the heart to win. Big Brown even shook his head saying, "no, no, no." It was hot for all those horses, he just didn't want to run.
If your a Big Brown fan...ask your UPS driver for a Go Big Brown pin. My neighbor gave me one and somebody gave my daughter's entire first grade class one!
Nicely done. Go Brown - the next flagbearer of the little guy who just failed in 1964 to be the first Triple Crown winner since Citation in 1948. Northern Dancer injured himself in the Belmont and still finished a game 3rd. He is the great grandad of Big Brown (twice).
I heard it called an "Energy Button". There is a youtube video of Kenny Mayne (ESPN) telling a kindergarten school class about how Big Browns Jockey reaches down and pushes the Energy Button (a white spot near his left shoulder) to make Big Brown go faster. Then at the end of the video someone asks Trainer Rick Dutrow Big Browns secret and Dutrow say's it is the "Energy Button". The name of the youtube video is Mayne, kids, Big Brown.
No. I think Big Brown is a Natural Champion. Although his time in the Kentucky Derby was 3 seconds off Secretariats. I think Big Brown will have no trouble winning the Belmont Stakes. He seems to have a high gear he kicks into going down the final stretch at all 5 of his previous races.
I think he needs to win the crown to help heal an injured sport. Hope there's no drama like when Afleet Alex almost fell at Belmont--Belmont is a long trip. Big Brown deserves the crown--Seems like his only contender was Eight Belles. What about Casino?
An article on Yahoo from Big Brown's trailer claimed the colt is looking better than he did going into the Kentucky Derby, so everyone is praying for him.
Thanks...Here's my Eight Belles explanation...Aboard Navy ships, bells are struck to designate the hours of being on watch. Each watch is four hours in length. One bell is struck after the first half-hour has passed, two bells after one hour has passed, three bells after an hour and a half, four bells after two hours, and so forth up to eight bells are struck at the completion of the four hours. Completing a watch with no incidents to report was "Eight bells and all is well."
