  • I agree with klempner69, it's edited too fast. You should redo this clip by leaving out all the transitions and actually keeping the pictures onscreen for at least 2 seconds each. That way the focus is on the actual content, and not the editing.

  • Great tribute if a little too fast at times. Thanks for sharing

  • just noticed, in the cabin there is a machine with a perspex dome, inside is a model of the ship........ same thing in space ship in the movie Forbbiden Plant.

    thanks for posting.

  • Loved watching this as a small child in the afternoons in the mid 70s.

  • Angela was my first crush.

  • I grew up in the late eighties and nineties but I LOVED this show! Never really loses its charm.

  • @Kryptoskryptos I grew up in the late 70s & 80s and used to watch this on TBS Sunday mornings at 8:00. Sometime in the late 80s to early 90s USA would show it on weekday mornings around 9:00--is that when you watched it?

  • Nice tribute. Lots of great pictures, but they went by too fast.

  • This is great: Lost In Space in the information age: Police=The Robot The armed forces =Dr.West, The Men's Rights Movement= Dr. Smith, The mental health destigmatization movement = The Monster just pick one....

  • Music by John Williams, absolutely brilliant!!

  • Makes me feel really old! "Oh the pain, the pain"

  • I loved this show.... some of my happiest memories as a kid.... great theme song....had a huge crush on Penny......

  • @zR750gUY Same for me.....including the Penny part too.

  • @zR750gUY You and me, both, mate! And just about every other boy at school when I was a 10 year old lad.

  • Danger..Danger..This is not compute..

  • Could hardly wait for this to air every week when I was 7. As hokey and lame as it truly was.

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone

Me too...matter of fact...I never missed a single episode from episode #1 to the end of the series...as hokey as it got....it became an obsession to see every episode once I strung a season together.

    Fond memories

  • Love this series and still do.

R.I.P. Guy Williams and Jonathan Harris.

  • Wow that was great...

  • Thanks mate. Loved this show, my escape from reality when I was 10. From Australia

  • Anyone know why Guy Williams and June Lockhart would simply disappear in some season 3 episodes? In one episode where Smith and Don are put in a work prison the only members in the episode are Will, the Robot, Dr Smith and Major West...the others are not even mentioned....Huh. Was there a contractual probem or were they wanting of the show?

  • @MarkFFHH "... or were they wanting off the show....?" Actually, you're very close to the money from what I've read. By Season 3, the Not-Will/Smith/Robot actors were pretty-much 'deeply chagrined' (shall we say?) with what the writers had done with their characters. The show had turned into a campy-hokey fest and any semblence or pretense of science fiction was lost. Shame. Some episodes (Wincelberg's 1st 5; Gilles' Mr Nobody / Magic Mirror) were truly first class sci-fi/fantasy writing.

  • Hello: Guy Williams died in Buenos AIres , Argentina...after playing Zorro in programs and circus for a long time: he was so loved in Argentina. I knew his address. His ashes then went to USA. Regards, Sergio.

  • Very good, thank you...

  • Excellent work! You did the Memorial Day BBQ crowd here today proud. Proud of our Vets and proud that we have these memories, tks 2 u!

  • Gene Roddenberry wanted a woman as the second in command on Star Trek and Spock was originally a lesser officer, which that episode was changed into the episode called the Cage. Lost in Space had a blonde Judy a love interest for Don and Star Trek had Yeoman Rann a love interest for Capt. Kirk, but Yeoman Rann was cut from the show and they had Capt. Kirk attracted to numerous women throughout the run of the show. They did try something new in it had sexual assault with duplicate Kirk, etc.

  • Cool

  • Oh! Nostalgic TV series! Was the age of dreams! It is the one kid thought that I get this 21st century.

  • Lost in Space started out as straight scifi and adventure but switched to scifi comedy and Star Trek also did some commedy with such episodes as the trouble with tribbles.

  • Great compilation! And.. Where is Robbie now, I wonder? And the spaceship models/sets/props?

  • AWESOME !!!

  • Lost in Space was a great show. Far more believable than Star Trek. After all if these spaceships could navigate millions of miles through galaxies they more than likely would have run into strange creatures as the Robinson family did. Star Trek's strangest creature was a guy with pointy ears who spoke great english and had some kind of sleeper grip if he could get you on the shoulder. C'mon is that the best you got???????

  • @koolhalo Back in 1996 when the network was discussing Star Trek for a brief moment they showed the ratings for both shows during the 1960's and LOST IN SPACE was more popular! It was us The Youth of that time that dictated just how long those TV Missions would last.

  • @trailboyus66 That sounds about right. Lost in Space was a very creative show and was shown on Wednesday nights ( if I remember correctly). It was on against much stiffer competition than Star Wars which was on Sunday nights. Back in the 60's there was absolutely nothing on TV on Sunday nights. I tried to enjoy the show but it wasn't very exciting. Where were the trekkies when the ratings were taken? They should've had bigger ratings. Nobody, nobody beats the Robinson's robot!!

  • @koolhalo You mean Star Trek not Star Wars... Yes Wednesday night is correct. CBS KRCG TV 13 Jefferson City Missouri. aired Lost in Space @ 8pm. Because so many kids were in bed by that time KRCG later aired it on Saturday afternoons. Believe it or not The Weather Man Lee Gordon; was also well connected with CBS programing & played a big part in keeping The Robinson family Lost in Space. Lee went to work in 1955 and retired a few years ago. He has twin sons exactly my age.

  • @trailboyus66 yes, I meant star Trek and not Star Wars. I remember the problem with the 8pm slot. I would always turn the TV on and start watching and if I was lucky I would get to watch the entire show. Most of the time I would just get to see part as my dad would remind me of school and I would have to go to bed !

  • @koolhalo Oh how I can relate. Lee Gordon from KRCG 13 did an announcemet . It's 10 Oclock Do you know where your children are?

  • @trailboyus66 Both shows were originally on 3 years but Star Trek did better in reruns. Although I think both did well in reruns.

  • @koolhalo Star Trek did have a moving rock like creature that burned holes through rock with acid, that miners were killing it's off spring. Many things on Star Trek copied Lost in Space Cerino Jones, Harry Mudd and Quark all reminded me of Dr. Smith. Mr. Spocks that's not logical reminded me of the robots that does not compute. and Data turned off in the back similar to the robot. Next Gen's Smart kid Wesley and his redhead mom reminded me of Will and Mrs. Robinson.

  • @hydrolito I see your point on some similarities of the 2 shows. But back in the 60's I always wanted Star Trek to be as exciting and adventurous as Lost In Space. It was on Sunday nights back before cable TV and all the choices to view we have today, but it was a so-so show. The creativity of Irwin Allen and the courage of the networks at that time to put new shows that were different made Lost In Space an adventure every week. Iet let our imaginations wonder about the next episode.

  • I agree. If Lost in Space had stayed with the format of the first season, it would have been better than Star Trek, instead of a big joke. Such a shame.

  • That was great. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hello, All. I was looking after a neighbor's pet and noticed several L.I.S. robots around. Reminded me of how much we all looked forward to each episode. I recognized June Lockhart (Lassie), Angela Cartwright (Make Room For Daddy, Sound of Music) and even Bill Mumy (Dear Brigette), but I didn't realize until years later that Guy Williams had been ZORRO! Best Wishes All.

  • yes what they do in 2006? bloody hell

  • Mark Goddard had a credited role in the movie. A fairly 'large' part compared to Angela Cartwright and Marta Kristen who had only a few seconds each.

  • Oh my god era mi serie favorita cuando era niña, qué emoción!

  • One of my neighbors purchased the fulll-scale mock-up of the Jupiter II at auction. Has it permanently placed to the rear of his property. I've been through it on several occasions. Quite interesting.

  • In 1:11 & 1:14 was Penny Robinson pregnant?

Didn't Mark Goddard play a cameo in the movie remake of Lost In Space?

I think they should remake the series, just like they made Star Trek: Enterprise. I think with today's effects it would be the bomb.

  • Gosh I grew up watching this show,it was my favorite, Iove the robot and all the characters, and effects. They just don't make em like that any more...

  • man thank's for the up date...

  • Btw, what happened to the lovable Mr. Robot?

  • @brandenburg2388 He was taken back in time, put in a crusher, and some of his parts were used when they developed the KNIGHT 2000 (but you can call him KITT)! :)

  • @02chevyguy lol...I always knew his parts would end up recycled into another good robot.

  • @brandenburg2388 Nah...the "robot" would be KITT'S prototype, KARR (Knight Automated Roving Robot...KARR if you prefer).

  • What can one say about this beloved show that millions of us grew up with? One of the best tv series of all time. Better than Star Trek cuz this show had camp value as well as space adventure.

  • @windstorm1000 the show was my version of "Star Wars" in its heydays.

  • Nice job...thanks for the flash-backs!

  • Love this show. I met the whole cast at a collectible show in 1990. Guy Williams had already passed. They are all down to earth, very nice people.

  • I though this was a "Where are they now?" update? What is this photo montage deception?

  • Season 1's "Mr. Nobody" was the best episode of the series.

  • Season 1 was certainly memorable..The rest jumped the shark more times than any other show in history.

  • 危険が接近! 危険が接近!

  • That's absolutely oe of te best videos ever. THANKS!! Love them all!

  • Angela Cartwright aged well; the scene where she was crying was innocent & touching...

  • Thank you so much for giving me a remembrance of my childhood..growing up in the 60's...loved all the Irwin Allen shows..and yes, I'll date myself..favorite cartoon show was "Jonny Quest"

  • I grew up watching Lost in Space and other Irwin Allen Creations. It was quite cool to end up working with Jonathan, Bill, Marta and Angela. Sadly it was to be Jonathan's final performance. They all provided voices for my film THE BOLT WHO SCREWED CHRISTMAS.

  • Can anybody identify the star system in the center of the closing credits? Very bright magnitude in the center of a gaseous cloud...photo by California Inst. of Tech copyright 1959.

  • Theme song by little Johnny Williams. Yes, THAT John Williams.

  • I love the outfits ... wish I had a silver jumpsuit to wear ! xxx One of my favourite shows EVER !

  • Very well done!! Thanks for bringing back nice memories of my favorite childhood show.

  • great show..the best!

  • They were so wholesome; they were like the Brady Bunch in Space...

  • Very well done.Thank You for sharing it.

  • Probably sacrelidge, but I love season three the best. Some bad eps in there, sure, but many that I love, too. Anti Matter Man, Target Earth, Hunter's Moon, Visiti to a Hostile Planet, Flight into the Future, Deadliest of the Species, The Time Merchant. I do enjoy season one though, I'm haunted from childhood by War of the Robots!

  • @straker2 When season three was good, it was really good. However, when it was bad, it was REALLY bad. I will say it was the prettiest season, what, with those vibrant colors, great new costumes, updated late '60s hairstyles, a plethora of new Jupiter 2 action scenes, and that unforgetable opening theme countdown sequence.

  • OMG! It was 45 years ago today that "Lost In Space" premiered.

  • 0:00 where did you get that from?

  • THANK YOU. Great memeories.

  • I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! TAKES ME BACK TO BEING A CHILD ANTICIPATING ALL MY FAVORITES SHOWS TO COME ON TV : ) THANKS!!!! SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!

  • Dr. Smith was the shit!!! My favorite crew member.

  • This show was so Americentric, that Earth was only referred to in terms of the U.S and all the aliens looked and sounded like Californians.

  • Oh the pain, the pain

  • I like the season 3 theme much better

  • Remake time again. This Time a Proper One.

Who could top John Williams as Professor John Robinson ?

What would a new version of the Jupiter 2 Spaceship be like designed 45 Years Later ?

  • @Roadracer987654321

I loved Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants, the Time Tunnel....all of them. But like Lost in Space after the initial season or two, Irwin erred by going campy. I guess everyone was trying to emulate the success of Batman. Too bad the movie was so far removed esthetically from the TV Lost in Space. The short homage to the Jupiter Two with the orbital insertion vehicle looking like a claptrap Jupiter 2 did not do it for me. ;)

  • Well done putting the clip together. Gave me flash backs when I was a kid rushing home from school to watch the show. And I do have the original b9 from then.

  • ''excellent''

  • I liked the all the different transitons at the start, then you went to push thrus and it got a bit samey...Would like to have seen more variation mid video..then back to push thrus..cheers

  • robinson=jews

  • @guanacoool What the fuck is this all about?

  • @mrnoiz23 robinson is a jews last name why do you have a problem or you are insane,or tonto,or both

  • @guanacoool

Robinson is an English language surname, originating in the British Isles. Me not Tonto.

  • the best movie , when I was a little boy !!!

  • Yeah they had some silly episodes where Dr. Smith is worried about Thor killing him, and tries to fool him with a fake rock. The silly Valkyrie in that episode also, the carrot looking vegetable man, etc. Star Trek Also did god Appolo but made it less silly, but they had that silly episode with tribbels. S.t.'s Harry Mudd, Cerinol Jones & Star Trek DS9 Quark were all similar to Dr. Smith, STNG's Dr. Beverly Crush similar to mrs. Robinson with red hair and son Wesley similar to Will but older.

  • They didn't say what happened to the robot. He is a shrimp fisherman down in New Orleans.

  • But you overlooked one important thing: What are the living cast members doing now?

  • Another one I liked as a kid but not as much now is when Dr. Smith goes on a treasure hunt with the pirates. But that kind of episode was what made some people say season one was the best. They did not like all the fantasy elements. They preferred the sci fi episodes. I can kind of see it now as an adult, but as a kid you don't care about that stuff. This video kind of helps prove why the show was popular. I think the soundtrack had a lot to do with it.

  • Everyone had their favorite episodes. So it is hard to say which one was the best. I'd say I liked the one where Will becomes a Dr. Smith Cyborg. But I have not seen all of the first season. Some people say the show had better episodes back then. In reruns they usually stuck to seasons two and three because they were in color. Not many kids would watch B&W. Even in the 70's. I liked the ones where Will and Penny were in them. I think Penny should have more screen time in general.

  • I give this video a 5 star, I loved it. Thank you so much. This was my favorite show when I was a little girl!

  • Danger Will Robinson, H2O!

  • I'm so excited that I'm going to see this series soon. I don't know why. Looks fun. All the shows today are boring to me. I only watched the movie version though.

  • I just loved this tv show when I was a kid. We could see it only once a week and it was a very important evening before going to bed. So, I really grew up with these tv series like Bonanza, High Chapparal, The Virginian etc. Its really great to see parts of them here after so many years ;)

  • wow, what a flashback!

  • buena buena buena...muy buena.

  • I got the original robot when I was a kid. Wish I had that today. I was a big deal to me then and now .

  • @dobber213 Me too, now I got the small robot b9 version that talks, it is pretty

good and you can find him on Ebay.

  • What a fitting tribute! Thank you for your love and dedication.

  • Was one of my favorite shows until it became the same every week. Became to much campy. To much the doctor.

  • on 3:37 he was with robin!!!!

  • Great...brings back great memories

  • saudades! ótimo video!!!!!

  • que tiempos aquellos!

  • Before Judy Robinson left earth she did a movie called Beach Blanket Bingo Annette turned down the trip to space so Judy was second in line She may be still up there Has anyone seen her in the flesh?

  • No, but I'd like to...

  • @lpvcrcd Years after Lost in Space, I saw a movie with some soft-core porn in it. I thought one of the girls getting it on with another girl looked awful familiar, so I checked the credits. Sure enough, it was Marta Christen aka Judy Robinson.

  • When Penny got older she gained weight and they called her Nickel

  • I love LiS. Such a shame that the amazing Season 1 was spoiled by the awful 2nd and 3rd Seasons.

  • I'll be the first to agree that the 1st season was the best....but I also enjoyed seasons 2 and 3...I enjoyed the whole show period. So it went from serious sci-fi to campy sci-fi...don't care, I still loved the show, the ENTIRE show.

  • agreed, never had a chance to see the first season, I just started watching it.

  • Yes I agree season 1 was the best. True Sci-Fi not campy fantasy. But I did like season 3 music more...

  • @MrEvan8689

Totally agree. 1st season best for plots. 3rd for song! Little known fact. In the first season they landed on a planet with an extremely eccentric orbit that took them through extremes of hot and cold. Did you know scientists have discovered several exoplanets that do have that kind of orbit? Did LIS predict the future?

  • @PAULNIEM Statistically, when faced with practically infinite possibilities, scientists were SURE to find a planet with an extremely eccentric orbit. Though, yes, LIS, like all good sci-fi, made some good predictions about the future, as did Jules Verne, among others.

  • Love watching these, reminds me of my childhood dreams. Always wished I had a robot friend. Did you know that the creator of "Robbie the Robot" was also the creator of the B9 robot from Lost in Space?

  • I like this very much.

  • Excelente!!!

    me trajo grandísimos recuerdos.

  • Great tribute. i love the LIS theme music. Can someone put on the actual video that went with the intro music. They had this Countdown from 10 that I thought was so cool as a kid.

    Thanks for posting!

  • At 3:23 is a great early 1970's shot of Penny (Angela) with long hair.....

  • esto es una obra de arte felicidades al que investigo todos los datos de estos actores, gracias por los recuerdos,

    thanks for the memories

  • Wow nice tribute, my favorite show.

  • Nice tribute but you must not care for Marta Kristen. She sure got the the short end of the stick here.

  • both "Startrek" & L.I.S were my most watched & favorites of all time. My parents wouldn't let me watch L.I.S because i would have nightmares after viewing, so when it came on (only 2 channels in black & white in those days in the UK) they put me in the kitchen till it was over, So i started digging a secret hole in the kitchen concrete wall, (under the kitchen table of coarse) after 1 month i nearly got through, but it was discovered & i got whacked hard. just shows how much i loved L.I.S hahaha

  • Oxiii eu era Piralho quando passava isso na TV nao perdia um episodio ... Valeu!!

  • my favorite show thank..

  • guy williams was handsome to me i could look at him all day abd don west also. My goodness where did they find these good looking men.

  • Its possibly the greatest sci fi show of all time. Unforgettable theme too.

Jonathan Harris' Dr Smith is what draws most views though and his ditherings with the young Will and Robbie The Robot.

"You nithering ninny!" Ha Ha ha ha ha!

  • Robbie the Robot was in Forbidden planet. Robbie the robot was the Robotoid on an episode of Lost in Space. The Regular robot on Lost in Space was just called The Robot or Robot, it had no name.

  • @hydrolito

His designation was Robot B-9; the character says it in a season two episode.

  • Thank you! Gave me goosebumps! Great job! Dave

  • God bless all the actors of "Lost in Space". The best years of my life, the best movie tv that I see.

    Thanks all.

  • What's on the scanner?

Irwin Allen seems to be a bit squeamish on violence, so you rarely saw full on punch outs happening.

Now turn the dial to The Wild Wild West in 1965, the same as LIS, and you see at least two gang style punch outs per episode and even more if they could squeeze it in.

  • AWESOME!...thx for the memories. I'd love to get the full DVD collection.

  • At 3:25, Angela looks especially hot! She's aged quite nicely!

  • worderful ! Maravilhoso poder recordar o passado. wonderful can remember the past.

  • i love lost in space. it was my number 1 favorite tv show when i was a kid

  • It's time for a Lost in Space Reunion film for the Original Cast. It can work without Dr. smith. Just cast in his nearest reletive that was duped into going off to Outer Space to go looking for him.

Judy Robinson was my First Crush. Barbara Eden was my second Crush. to this day I melt for Blonds anywhere.

Will was beyond Cool ! So was Guy Williams. He was the ideal TV Father. He was like Ward Cleaver in Outer Space !

June Lockhart was Good too ! The Aliens attck and she bakes a cake ! : )

  • I agree with Eddie, that Jonathan Harris, was the show stealer, however it would have been too serious

  • Wonderful tribute, I can still see L.I.S. once a week on a obscure cable channel. The first year and Pilot episode still hold up. The pilot exceptionally well, the last years in color some are so bad, I'll still watch or leave it on doing other things. Its amazing this show captured a generation. Space travel, though flight was a actual reality thanks to NASA. Thanks to L.I.S. this generation actually thought of traveling and living with a family. Great time of life great memories. Thanks !!

  • This is just a guess but i think the idea must have come come a TV excecutive who said something like: "hey guys lets jump on the space race bandwagon. I have a great idea for a new TV show. We remake `THE SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON' only its in space and we call it `THE SPACE FAMILY ROBINSON` ".

I am so glad that they did not call this show `The Space Family Robinson'.

  • no-the star trek folks pitched it to them and they stole the idea and made it family-friendly

  • exallent !!! 5 stars

  • Ohh que recuerdos. en Colombia vimos esta serie inolvidable a inicios de los años 70s.

  • Memories,,sweet memories, that's all I can say.

  • I am very excited remembering my teenage years, when I see this movie. I'm sorry the loss of family member Robson. I am very sad. Congratulations Magnificent. My name is Cesar Maia Nogueira, I live in Brazil, in Fortaleza, where Dr. Smith ever been. Thank you. Fortaleza, November 11, 2009.

  • pretty good tribute.,,,,,,,and am i the only one that thinks jonathan harris was gay ???

  • @Jackswild30 He was married for decades - if that counts for anything......

  • @Jackswild30

Well if it means anything the guy was married to a woman for several years and had kids with her. So he could have just been playing an effeminate character. The early B & W episodes show him as this dark double agent bent on double crossing the family. He was an enemy agent and was quite butch on the surface, but when faced with unexpected terror would punk out.

  • This was a serious sci-fi show in it's first season...then Jonathan Harris stole the show and it turned into a camp-fest. I read that that camped it up so it could better compete with the show Batman. Interesting...

  • I agree with you Eddiesix, however would it have lasted if it was too serious

  • @Eddiesix

Yes that is what I read as well. I grew up during that era and Batman was all the rage with its campy rendition of Batman. All of the TV stars and then some wanted to at least have a cameo on that show. After watching an episode of each, I can say first season LIS stands up much better than any season of Batman

  • Very nicely done. I was a huge fan of the show when I was a kid, and still am today. Lost in space will never die.

  • wauuu...aun siento las fantasias de cuando era un crio

  • Some day you too will be old and talk about classic shows like Survivor and American Idol... what's "classic" is what you grow up on.

  • You've got it.

  • Comment removed

  • Bob may who played the robot died january 2009.

The voice of the robot Dick Tufeld is still alive

  • Very good your tribute to the series lost in the space, however are missing you the mas important ¡my loved robot!...

Danger, danger, danger. Greetings from Mexico

  • Very nice tribute. Loved the show and loved the music. Thank you to the entire cast and crew for a memorable show.

  • THIS IS A CLASSIC SHOW .WHEN TV WAS GOOD AND FREE! thanks to all the cast&writer,s . billbloodma

  • i used to love this program I think they should do a modern day remake :D
