Good news today, it appears the trial culls will go ahead. Mrs spelman is a wonderful Environment Secretary. She actually listens to people who earn a living from the countryside and give a positive impact back. So it appears Landowners like MYSELF, not the ones pretending to be like selbybadgerwatch, will be able to cull badgers where it is needed in the near future.

Plus there are so few hedgehogs in my area because the badgers keep eating them, when was the last time you saw a hedgehog in an area heavily populated with badgers? I am sorry but its a fact that badgers take lambs and poultry. This is where you badger watch groups slip up. You dont give a damn about the countryside, farmers, gamekeepers or any one else who actually does anything positive for it.

It does make me sad that so much discussion in our sad and individualistic time always come down to the bottom line. The main argument against vaccination is economic, plus there is mention here of the cost to the tax payer of subsidising farming following cattle culls. When will we wake up and think about LIFE and what it is really worth (Whether that is human, bovine or badger...)?
