I started playing competitive paintball with friends and i had recently bought a blue etek 3 lt and player w/that for about 1 month then bought the kingmen rapid loader and 50 cal. kit and its so worth it i play snake so all i shot is one case at practice and it helps out cause our sponsor (local felid) gives us now twice as much paint for practice and tournaments

the .50 is smaller and lighter yet fired at the same speed, it does not carry the same amount of energy when it leaves the barrel, someone do the math so that .50cal players can tune their velocity up so both the .50 and the .68 have the same kinetic energy.

How is X-ball played with .50cal ANYTHING like airsoft unless? .50cal means 6mm balls of plastic fired from an AEG...

I've never played with .50 paint myself but I've heard that it flies alot better than regular.

Mike… Have you thought if the setting for 50 cal is change from 300 feet per second to 350 or 400 to increase the impact breakage and the range? It is more speed but considering that have lees mass. At 300 feet per second 50 cal have 5 joules of impact force vs. 13 for 68 cal. If the increase in speed increase the impact force to 8 or 9 joules still will be a lot less that for 68 cal. Already the protection equipment is designed for over 13 joules. The extra speed should be safe for 50 cal.

also a company need to come out with a hopper other than kingman..although it may be a decent loader there r still much better designs out there...company's such as dye, VL, and empire could make good money by getting with the 50 cal trend..and even though i do not anticipate a industry wide switch to 50cal within the near future i am stil completly in favor of the idea of a switch..we need to find ways to make paint ball affordable..that way more people will be able to play and 50cal does that

i would really love to switch over to 50 cal because it is so much more cost efficient....and player efficient(because of lighter paint that u can carry more of)

I play renagrad ball I have a woodsball field i have a speedball feild I have a target range for my Chronoy. i have a co2 fill station and we have scales. and If you wanna watch we have extra masks and extra guns to play. I also have extra land to just run through the woods and shoot But the big difference is the price the people at my local field charge 40 dollars a bag of paint for rps styinger which is unreal so i can aford a box of paint every weekend which id like to .
