  • @xxxx8888able You can not understand, because the Soviet Union you have been associated only with western cliches, such as the Communist Party, Stalin, cold, bears, balalaika, etc. In the Soviet Union was filmed many wonderful movies and multfilm.Nemalo of them received high awards at film festivals in Western Europe, the U.S. included.

  • Everytime, it gets me every single time. Such music, such beauty, such love it's all too much to take in, my heart feels like it will burst with such emotion. I think we all wish we could have a romance like that, with full on music and dancing, beautiful. But, allas the real world isn't a fairy tale I don't think any woman would ever come to me. But, I can still dream right? Just live my life and look for that girl that love me for me. If I had a girl like that I would want to recreate this :)

  • @TedLeatherJacket

Keep dreaming of love, and someday it will come to you. I'm very sure that a woman will love you for yourself, if you love her as herself just as equally.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. It has been many years since I have seen this. It brings back my childhood. I love this Nutcraker tale the most because it has the happy ending where it's not a dream and they both live "Happily Ever After".

  • this work is beautiful I like

  • Is there a swan lake version?

The Nutcracker is one of my favorite Christmas stories.

  • me too loudrgfan. I love the nutcracker.

  • Beautiful!

  • Legendary piece of music but the Blue Danube is the most Legendary Piece of Music ever.

  • You're comparing Strauss to Tchaikovsky?! Come on, with all due respect to Strauss, he doesn't measure up.

  • Самая чистая на свете любовь... :)

  • What can be better than a great music aand a great love....

  • I used to watch this when I was little.

  • The music sounds so pretty in this version. Does anyone know what orchestra is playing, their interpretation is pretty.

  • No, but some of it was used for Disney's Sleeping Beauty.

  • I did not know that. Did you know that Tchaikvosky the composer for the nutcracker did a version of sleeping beauty too? That's probably why they used music from the nutcracker on the Disney version.

  • @downbutnotout84

    wikipedia:

The Nutcracker, a two-act ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, is perhaps the composer's best-loved and most famous work. Tchaikovsky's adaptation of the story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" by E. T. A. Hoffmann was commissioned by the director of the Imperial Theatres Ivan Vsevolozhsky in 1891.

  • А принц такой милашка<3

  • I remember that! I haven't seen it when I was little girl but only in english verison. Thanks for putting it.

  • I am russian and can do russian letters and words but this is great!

  • мне кажется, что это один из самых лучших русских мультфильмов, а что касается Чайковского - что ж, он писал "хиты".

  • Чайковский - гений.

  • Wow, this is beautiful!

  • They lookes like alves))

  • i guess clara and nutcracker are danceing and are married

  • The prince looks like the male version of the maid.

  • I am Russian, but I still think that old Russian animations are one of the best ones. Happy New year everybody!!

  • Great music and fabulous animation! Thanks so much, houzdog03! You've made my day!!!

  • One of the best (AND UNIQUE) animated version of The Nutcracker...EVER! Amazing how they had Carla as a young teenage Maid (With the oversized wooden clogs) and the time period that the Nutcracker was based upon (Late 1700-early to mid 1800 Russia).

  • At the beginning of this song, I can almost add the lyrics, "it was just a dream" I could almost fit.

  • Is there anything more beautiful than this music!!!!!!

  • I truly doubt it. Tchaikovsky was a master.

  • magnifico VALS DE LAS FLORES

  • Heart warming.. i love happy endinga

  • For a guy in tights, this prince acually looks cute without looking weird like most prince charmings. XD

such a pretty version of the nutcracker.

  • It's wonderful music, fantastic musician!!

My happiness, joys, smilies and tears never end

  • This beautiful music and the wonderful animation! Fantastic! Thanks for posting that!

  • so beautiful! <3

  • OMG! I'm REALLY loving this now! When the Nutcracker turned into a prince I felt warm fuzzies!

Once again, thank you SO much for posting this!

  • This is a beautyfull animation, with beautiful music, and it brings back so many memories from my childhood... but(!) it is also starting to anger me, becouse I can't recognise so many parts of the music! I know it's not all from the nutcracker, but then, where is it from? Can someone make a list of the original/true names of the compositions used in this animation?

  • well, i know that some parts are from "swan lake" but i don't know exactly what the songs that were used in this were called cuz i haven't seen swan lake in a VERY long time.

  • i love this animation! ^^

most of the russian' animations i've seen havent dissapointed me

    they're really good artist! :3

    ...

    well... to JohnnyFyrpo' question...

i recognize (in parts 1, 2 and 3) "The nutcracker", "Swan Lake" and "The Sleepy Beauty" (i dont know it name in english... o.O) in this animation... o.O

  • Part3: Pas de Deux Dance of the Prince and the Sugar-Plum Fairy >>> Variation II Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy >>> Waltz of the Flowers

    Part2: ... >>> 3.29 Tea Chinese Dance >>> ...

Part1: Overture >>> ... >>> Pas de Deux Dance of the Prince and the Sugar-Plum Fairy >>> March >>> Tea Chinese Dance

  • My mom had a crush on the nut cracker when she was small.

  • maybe you right, some parts like Cinderella...

but "Cinderella" and "The Nutcracker" not russian fairy tales))

and yes, they do)) they use music from other ballets for very beautiful, amazing, perfect cartoon)) Why not? Where is problem?))

  • Absolutely amazing!! but with subtitles, that was funny :)) no words just music to fill our heart with grace and beauty! Thank you.

  • YUzan08 I wonder who narrated this cartoon does it have and English narrator in this film?

  • I'm not sure what do you mean by "narrated"? There are no words in this cartoon.

P.S. If you would like to ask a question a particular person, click on "Reply" just above their comment. This way they'll get a notification that you've replied to their comment. Otherwise they wouldn't know that you wrote them a question :)

  • The Reason Why I`m Asking This is because i watch that in My Childhood Too. With An English Narrator of course.

  • I haven't herd of the narrated version. So unfortunately can't help you there.

  • @houzdog03 When this came out in America, voiceover narration by Shirley MacClaine was added.

  • @houzdog03 It was shown in the U.s. as part of a miniseries called "Stories from my Childhood", and in the U.S. it was narrated in English by Shirley MacLaine. There is no narration in the original Russian version.

  • @Elena5021 It was narrated by Hans Conried (Captain Hook in Disney's "Peter Pan", Snidley Whiplash on "Dudley Do-Right", and Uncle Tonoose on "Make Room For Daddy" aka "The Danny Thomas Show").

  • I have cryed when I watched this video, cuz it used to be my favorite cartoon when I was a kid and it reminds me home, my childhood, parents and all the memories just come to my mind.

Thank you so much for this video, I love it :) !!!

  • The Only Thing Left In The Finale Was The young girls shoes, her broom, and the broken pieces of the nutcracker on the floor. I wonder what happended to them? Do they stay in the kingdom or it's just a dream?

  • I think what it means is that the girl doesn't need the shoes, since she has the princess shoes and the prince doesn't need the pieces of the nutcrackes as he is flesh and blood again. They remain in the kingdom and live happily ever after.

  • the prince kinda looks like a girl...but i stil love it thats really cute!
