It's indeed what gurrmuff says, a lot of mirrors. Whoever thinks this guy is poking in front of the piggy should seriously consider Nintendo's Brain Training.

I saw this thing myself; it's not rare, it's not art, it's not expensive; just a couple of mirrors reflecting a piggy. Making such a thing is of course a whole other story, but explaining it isn't that big a deal.

look in the mirror, he is not poking in front of it. You can see where his reflected hands are in the mirror that he is actually pinching it but the pig is not their. The pig is reflected. I saw one of those toys and they do work.

Second, the thing is not there, but is reflecting in a mirror somewhere behind, so wherever you put your finger, it will always look like it's "in front of" the pig, even if stereovision (and you need two eyes, not just one camera) tells you that it should be behind, or just touching it.

Well craynerd, it looks like he is faling mainly because of two things: first, parallax; the angle from which the camera and the old guy are looking the illusion are different, so the projected position of the pig is also different.

lol, thanks for posting but to be honest the video really doesn`t portray this for how good it really is. Basically, on video it looks like he was actually missing when he was trying to pick up the pig. It looked like he was grabbing infront of the pig. In reality, he was actually right on the spot where the mirrage of the pig was, for some reason the camera does not pick this up. The pig is actually under a dish as he shows in the end. The image of the pig you see is made by mirrors!
