@frosty2none1 really, if your NOT a pro, then you really should be. You have a great sound, great tone, and an awesome sense of "driving" the beat. The drums drive the song, *but* the bass **DRIVES** the drums, but only by a few milliseconds, and the result is amazing. This is the secret to playing bass, and you have it impeccably. I would like to hear what you can do with She Caught the Katy Blues Brothers, or Chuck Mangione feels so good. Those are amazing lines.
Bravo! I was listening to a 1972 collection of tunes on my way home from work today and this tune grabbed me so hard I blasted it 6 or 7 times straight. I'm not even a bass player and I got so obsessed with that groove I came straight home and searched it out on youtube. IMO, you did the best job I've seen on here. Great job.
@jdh72457 Thank you very much for that!:) The bass is a Squire Modified Jazz Bass. It is part of the Fender buget line. I picked that one up for under $300.00 off of E-bay. It was a refurbished product. I think you can still get these new for around $300.00? Take care!
@cessna65423 Thank you very much!! To be honest I have not tried either of those songs. However I set out to re-visit them and I can see giving them a try in the future.
@imaroya Yes it's a great price for a pretty good bass. I think you can still get these for the same price, I bought mine off e-bay for around $280.00. It was a refurb, with no visable defects.
Thank you very much! I have always loved this song. I took the bass line from the Aloha from Hawii live via satalite CD. Jerry Scheff goes crazy in his live work "always":))) Thats the only time Elvis "my #1 singer of all time" would let the band loosen up some:))) Thanks again for commenting!!! and best wishes:)
Great job on this, my band play a cover of this song but because i sing it and play the bass i tend to stick to root notes with some extra fills shoved in for good measure but i think i'll start trying to learn this line...
Damn thats good!! lol wow , very accurate.
