Yes on this show, Jerry wrote in his book "Dean & Me (A Love Story)" that he all of a sudden hit a little wet spot and went down like a ton of bricks. Everyone thought it was him doing a pratfall. He finished the number and went straight to hospital, to have a fractured skull and a chip out of his spinal column. He said the pain was horrendous and got worse. The next year the docs told him a fibrous knot built up around the spinal injury. The pain was then constant and agonizing.

I really suggest, that if you haven't, go pick up a copy of this book "Dean & Me (A Love Story)" Jerry wrote. It is fantastic. A must read for any Martin and Lewis fan. I've just finish reading it today actually and loved every bit of it.

Tatane, Sorry! It's not a joke, just a comment. "let it rip" means "loses his inhibitions and dances wildly without caring how he looks." Andy does this at the 3-minute, 28-second point in the video.
